is an infection caused by the larvae of the parasite solium. This infection occurs after a person swallows tapeworm eggs. The larvae get into tissues such as muscle and brain, and form cysts there (these are called cysticerci). Eating bacon that is not cooked can cause cysticercosis. Worm in the brain can only be spotted with a CAT scan. I love bacon but after having a friend in up in the hosp. with brain worms I stopped eating bacon.

Too crispy. Youre deep frying the bacon in its own fat. Those will be horribly crispy. The trick is to get it cridpy as well a tad chewy. You should take this bacon and crumble it up for salads and mac n chz or something

Sodium nitrates are not an issue. That is a lie we all were told to cover up the big sugar companies like Kellogg’s, to push their highly processed crap they call cereal. How long does it take to cook this way?
@AnimalBasedInYourFace
Ай бұрын
There is too many variables to give you an exact time. It depends on the thickness of your bacon, the quality of the pot, thinner. Aluminum pot will cook much faster and can actually burn very quickly. You can speed up the process by adding bacon grease from previous, cooking or rendering. You may have to do this two or three times to figure out the best way to cook with your heat source and pot. But it is a great way to cook several pounds of bacon at one time.

Nitrates are not harmful. Your body even produces them itself. The sugar is very low, less than 1 gram for the curing process. To find bacon with out either look for non-cured bacon. How is there sugar in the ingredients but zero carbs?
@AnimalBasedInYourFace
4 ай бұрын
They use a small amount of sugar to cure bacon. It is less that a carb per serving so they don’t have to claim any carbs. Eggs are the same way. There is actually.6 carbs in an egg but it is less than zero so it doesn’t have to be documented in the nutrition label. Now if the serving size was 2 eggs then they would have to say 1 carb per serving.

@@AnimalBasedInYourFace I must be doing it wrong. I did it twice and the bacon isn’t consistent and parts are crispy and parts are rubbery. Also they can’t easily be used for like a wrap Very difficult to use the end product. Now if you are going for making bacon bits or small squares this method seems fine. I guess we just use our bacon differently in that I want an even crispy and long flat piece to eat with my eggs. For others, use parchment paper it doesn’t leak thru to the baking sheet, and the renderings pour right to your grease jar. I see other line their pans with tin foil and that is way messy, the bacon sticks and tears the foil. Parchment browns the bacon great. Go bacon!

@BigLapua Hum I have done full slices this way several times. But not all come out flat and straight. Also if you have previous bacon grease it works better with full slices if you have a couple inches of grease in the pot when you start. They float around better and don’t curl as much.
