0:34 - One of the most dangerous things you can do to the Doctor is stop him - or slow him down. Prevent him from running - and joking - and laughing... do that - and the arrogance comes out. Do that - and 'the Doctor' is just a story and you're left with a being who's thousands of years old and doesn't give a damn about what you think of him

Moffat should own Doctor Who and a new generation of scriptwritters (or just an AI) should be trained to write scripts like him for when he retires.
@leonavu
Ай бұрын
I wish he had better scripts. The guy is undeniably talented, but it feels like only here or there he's being pushed into that Capaldi/Tennant level of Shakespearean sturm and drang. And Ruby feels like Clara all over again - not the exact story, but another "Impossible Girl", and that's too bad because SHE is great, too. It's so odd. All of the ingredients are there for both a return to the wonder of the Russell/Moffatt years - a great showrunner; brilliant actors; scripts from two fellas that know how to write, that's for sure; Murray Gold; bigger budget than ever before. And it just feels flat, for some reason. Meh. Life goes on.
@Timewizz
Ай бұрын
There’s definitely elements that makes Ruby feel like season 7 Clara. However, where I feel Ruby differs is the mystery that surrounds her ties into her personal emotional arc throughout the season, something I can’t remember Clara having and I think makes for great story telling
@ThomasPeters2002
Ай бұрын
I think Ruby is very different from Clara, as with Ruby’s mystery arc, that’s something that actually happens in real life, being a foundling adoptee, not knowing where you come from and who your birth parents are, which naturally makes you mysterious, the only non-real thing about Ruby is her memories of the night she was born manifesting into reality.
@friendlyotaku9525
Ай бұрын
@@Timewizz My biggest problem with Clara is that for Series 7b she is basically just a plot device with very little character and because of this I don't really see that much chemistry between her and 11, thankfully this changed with Day of the Doctor where she FINALLY felt like a person and not a plot device and her chemistry with 11 was amazing, it's a shame that it was the penultimate episode with them both as they are great together in those last two episodes so it's a shame we didn't get this prior. And she's consistently great with 12, even more so in fact! Whereas with Ruby of course there is this mystery but she still feels like an actual person and her dynamic with 15 is incredible, they are so good together and 15 doesn't keep going on about her being a "mystery that needs to be solved", he's intrigued of course but ultimately they are two best friends having fun travelling time and space together!
@chazo1367
19 күн бұрын
@@friendlyotaku9525 That's kind of the point of her character, we see her through 11's POV and he treats her like that, as something to be studied rather than as a person, it's not until the end of his run that he changed up that way of seeing her and 12 just saw her as her rather than a mystery box.
