That ending speech alone proved why David Tennant was the best Doctor. He can be goofy, angry and magical all in the space of 5 minutes. Matt Smith got the goofy and angry angle but didn't really get the magical stuff till near the end.
@lyndaleoliver-musto23
9 жыл бұрын
My son started watching Doctor Who after DT so "his Doctor" is always going to be Matt Smith. I still did a mental mind punch when he turned round and said David Tennant is a better actor though! (And I hold to my theory that it would be cool to see the Doctor regenerate into a character that looks exactly like a former self but with a completely different character and visual style. While the "borderline personality", leading to full blown manic depressive at times, emotional swings were amazingly done, I have always wanted to see DT play a Doctor Who wasn't so haunted by the past. I don't think the regeneration sickness helped there either… The writers have now put in canon that the Doctor regenerates into a face he has seen before so why shouldn't it be the face he saw in the mirror? That couple of minutes by Cappaldi, where he recognises his face has opened a whole load of possibilities. Imagine if (when the time comes, not too soon though, I actually like PC) he regenerated into John Simms. That could be complicated! Aside from my hubby, the biggest argument about the idea was that just because DT was good, he had his turn and we shouldn't "let" him have another go. I don't think it is about letting him, although he would be my first choice for the reasons I gave and because I think he would be most able to pull off a character that was still great but very deep different from the last time. Most importantly through, I think it has to be what is good for the character and fun for viewers. I think this would be).

I was so jealous of the people who got to see this live :,( Doctor Who was my LIFE as a kid. I read the huge books on the making of the series from cover to cover, and would get them out each night to look at. I had books full of drawings and stories. When I got my first season boxset, the second season, I had a period of about three months where I would watch hours and hours of it every day without ever missing a day. I would rewatch David Tennant's Video Diaries and Doctor Who Confidential hundreds of times. I would ask questions on all the Q & A's on the old old RTD Doctor Who website. I sent a six page letter to Cardiff from Australia when I was 12. I remember being devastated when they had a competition and I couldn't enter because of where I lived. I mean, just look at the username I made myself in year 5.

LOVE HIM!!!! He's soooo excited and spontaneous sometimes, me love a bit good of excited and spontaneous! But that's The Doctor's base layer of infectious child-like awe and wonder! Love him to bits, ALL of him! All them faces! LOL

It would've been great if the Graske he sent to a random place in the universe ended up in like EastEnders or something

The whole video just gave me a big grin! I wish I was there. Suppose those kids are in like late 10's or early 20's now. This must've been one of their greatest memories.

Beethoven famously became deaf in later life. By the time he'd written his 9th symphony (famous for the Scherzo and for the "Ode to Joy", his hearing was likely gone completely. All the more amazing that he produced such marvellous work without hearing an orchestra play it!

That final speech from the Doctor was just magical. Then again that is the definition of music. US!!

Before I clicked on this I was like "how have I not seen this?" But as soon as the graske appeared I had a massive throwback to 2009, and now I remember it properly haha
