as the wonderful dr who reference book The DisContinuity Guide put it - watching Colony In Space is like watching socially aware paint dry.

Of course the Master uses hypnosis in The Sea Devils. Middle of the second episode when he uses the Obiwan trick: "You will obey me, Chief Petty Officer. You have seen my pass and is is quite correct." And Invasion of the Dinosaur is an absolutely great story that would benefit most from remade CGI for the HD remaster. The first episode when the Doctor and Sarah Jane return and find London abandoned, try to figure out what's going on and are caught, trialed and punished by the military for looting before they actually meet the UNIT team is just great. And so many twists. The only other story that has that is The Seeds of Doom (not th be confused with The Seeds of Death).

I just meant the guy who runs the prison, i like that he manipulates his way out of the prison rather than hypnotise his way out

@@thetalisman7722 The Colonel? Maybe he was convinced, maybe he was hypnotised. The Master knows many ways to manipulate people. And if you see the beginning of Terror of the Autons, he doesn't even need words to hypnotise Lew Russell. Roger Delgado is by far the best Master in the history of Doctor Who. There were so many people complaining that he appears in every episode of Season 8. But gladly, this way we have at least seven stories with him. Anthony Ainley has more, but unfortunately he is just a copy of Delgado, not closely that brilliant as Delgado.

The best era of Doctor Who are the seasons 5-14. Innes Lloyd, Peter Bryant, Derrick Sherwin, Barry Letts, Philip Hinchcliffe.

This was my Mum's Era of Doctor Who, she got into the show by Jon Pertwee, and then Tom Baker and Peter Davidson!!!

I'm in a constant toss up between Pertwee Era, Tom Baker's first three seasons and the Moffat Era but I don't think any Doctor has consistently good writing like Pertwee so that era may just take the prize

Watching doctor who these days has me rooting for the bad guy's. Chibnall's completely ruined it.

Not a fan of the current era myself, hence why I dived into the Classic Series - a very good call that was as well
