In the 1960's and early 1970's we had a local hangout in my town known as Eat n Park. Just like happy days except the girls did not have roller skates. But they did come out to your car, take your order and bring your food to you. Every evening my brother and I would go to this place because he owned a 1969 Chevelle 396. Muscle cars would cruise through, some would stop and back into their parking space and wait for someone to challenge them to a race. When that happened, most people would follow to a long straight piece of road to race. But after a few years the police started to stake out this road and it was on to a new location for the next race. Wonderful times.

She looks so sharp and that white circle race strip around the trunk line so iconic.. although I would add some mesh into that hood scoop to protect it from rock chips

We lived on a “main” street as a little kid in the late 70’s. All kinds of street machines would drive by. My sister and I would play a game where we had to pick a direction and whatever car went past in that direction was yours. To this day I remember a yellow Nova with air shocks, side pipes, traction bars and slot wheels went by. What got me the most was it had NO hood. You could see the high rise intake. And it had chrome hood spring hinges in the up position. It was SO cool I remember thinking. The chrome hood hinges sticking up was the neatest thing about it.

I laughed when I read this.....my younger brother was always getting me into fights....trouble was the guys he got into it with belonged to the "Future Special Forces Youth Corps" and ate raw meat for breakfast. Boy, some of the gorillas just about killed me. My brother Jim is the best brother a man could ask for.....I guess it was sort of a 'bonding' thing for us. One of the pair of brothers we used to fight with turned out....one of them an Army Ranger and the other one a Green Beret. My brother sure could pick 'em.....I love that guy.
