How much bigger is the new turbo housing compared to the stock housing?

+Kyle Lake I forget the specs off hand but my stock turbo was like a 54 mm and the new one is 58 mm but not totally sure on those numbers. But with the variable geometry exhaust side it spools better then the stocker and keeps pulling up at top.

Joe Simon nice! Looks good! I ask only for modication reasons on my truck. I have a Fummins. Installing a phatshaft 62 and new manifold. Have some fabrication to do

Thank you for this helpful video. I have one more question. Where did you tie in your rpm wire? I hooked my all up and am getting no response from turbo stuck at one value. And having vgt status issues on the software issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean turbo rpm? If so that comes from a sensor mounted to the turbo itself. I think I bought my sensor off eBay. So in the main wiring harness you’ll have a separate connector that plugs right into the rpm sensor. That sensor is a must because it also seals up the hole that debris can get into or oil will squirt out of. As far as software issues that all comes from Steed himself. And currently he is overseas as he is still active in the service. Only thing I would check is make sure your controller firmware is up to date and download his latest software off his website.

I was referring to th rpm purple wire in thebanshee harness. Steed said it's for the turbo to disengage at low rpm. Said it needs hooked yo the crank sensor? Not sure if you knew where it needed attached ?

Did the factory 5.9 exhaust down pipe line up with the new 351ve?
@racerjoe427

firebird266 yes and no. The factory down pipe would work but the v-band flange is different. So I ordered a down pipe for a 3rd gen with the 6.7 and it bolted right up.

It took a couple weekends to complete. It is a lot of work but nice thing about Cummins is they're pretty easy to work on. Cost?? I'd say close to $3k if I had to add everything up. Thanks for watching!

Well once I had all the parts it took about two weekends. It's not a daily driver so I could take my time and not have to be in a hurry. Thanks for watching!
