what is the normal temperature for the dodge journey?
@YeeeeeHaaaaa
Жыл бұрын
Okay got a 2010 dodge journey with the 2.4L. Sometimes it starts on the first crank or it takes several times to start. I’ve replaced the fuel pump in the tank, all injectors, purge valve on the firewall, new spark plugs and ignition coils. It still does it. Google says the coolant sensor could be the issue. Any thoughts?

Highly unlikely a temp sensor would cause it. Sounds more like a crank shaft position sensor to me. But its hard to diagnose cars over the phone let alone through youtube comments. Best bet would be to get a cheap code reader and go from there

Hi there I was wondering if this sensor failing would give high temperature readings on the car? Thanks.

Oh my God.. spitting on the O ring. I have bought 2 different brands of temp sensor and none of them would fit, i was going crazy, so i spit in my hand and rubbed the o ring all up... it went right in!!!! Thank you so much , you are a savior. I can't stop laughing that was my problem.

I realized I needed to change it when coolant was coming out of it. Was a crusty orange residue around it. O-ring was gone, had a tune-up, somehow it came off.

@@WhatTheDuckAuto The o-ring ended up being in perfect condition. The sensor however doesn't fit snug, it wiggles a bit. So now my next thought is when my daughter overheated last month, is it possible the thermostat housing got to hot and expanded when the sensor plugs into it, making it not fit snug anymore?

I have the service manual and I see there there is a second temp sensor but I can find in the manual where it is located. There is wiring for it and pictures of the connector. I have the digital copy of the manual from a know forum. Search is from acrobat reader. If someone can point me out what page I can find this info. Sensor 1 is on top of the plastic thermostat housing. Sensor 2? Thanks in advance.

Nope. This vehicle also had a bad heater hose , thats why you dont see any coolant spill out. But just replace it as fast as possible. Take the radiator cap off. Top it off. Turn the car on with the heater on and test drive until it blows hot air to insure no air pockets
