I actually just got my DCR bushings in yesterday and they have since gone to a newer design. The new design consists of a billet aluminum bushing with a slick nylon washer on each side.

@@AlexAutoFun That's correct, when I received them someone had written "New 2019 Design" on the vacuum sealed bag. I noticed their packing is all vacuum sealed bags which is much nicer than before. The one thing I really like about DCR is they are always finding ways to improve their products.

Nice in-depth video! I've always used the booger bushings since my gen1 neon. I did have an issue with them desinigrating once in my srt4 after a few years so they do wear out over time. Maybe next time I will get some DCR ones. Ps. I have an extra set of DCR pro street axles if you're interested in buying. Look forward to more srt4 videos!

Great video! This vid inspired me, so I 3d printed some nylon bushings as I was unhappy with current offerings. Just using hairpin clip to hold the bushing to the shaft. It's held up great so far with my maddog shifter. Feels great!

Nice vid just an update for new owners about to do this if u remove the shift knob u don't have to remove the boot if u remove the boot u can leave under the shift knob and still remove ur console without removing the knob and u didn't install the dcr on the shifter lol
@AlexAutoFun
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mr. Me! glad you mentioned that, I normally don't remove the shifter ball or boot when removing the console, it made it easier to film by removing it but can totally be done without doing so. This video is made up of other videos I shot at different times which is also why the shifter bushings were Booger (that was shot earlier) after I went to DCR on all 4 of them, I haven't had any issues so I think they are slightly better than the Boogers one which popped on me once or twice. I did hear that DCR updated them since and now makes them of aluminum now but really like the previous material, it be neat if they offered both options..

Very nicely done video! I just subscribed to your channel :) I don't have an SRT4 but I have a 07 PT Cruiser GT with a 5 speed....so alot of things for the Neon apply to my car. I just installed some Booger bushings...I'm curious, which one popped off? Now you have me concerned about them coming off, lol
@AlexAutoFun
5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sub AR Drummer! That's so true about the GT sharing components with the SRT4 (in fact I think the GT came first and SRT borrowed parts for the SRT4) Regarding the bushing, I had one pop out on the tranny side and I also had one disintegrate on the shifter side, both almost left me stranded!1

I've had atleast 5 seta from modern and its hit or miss with theirs. I've had 2 fail in less than a year but 3 that lasted. I actually had an srt4 from the showroom and sold it after 9 years to a buddy who still owns it and he still has the mp boogers that I installed. The dcr new design is a game changer. I actually made a little retaining clip for my last srt4 that held them in really really right so they didnt slip at all.

@AlexAutoFun

Hi Senpai 420, I would double check that the cables are connected, sometimes the old bushings break. Remember to check both the bushings above the transmission and the ones below the shifter inside the car, let us know what you find bud!

Hi men I just buy srt 4 have 3 gear problem so I read a lot and people said just buy the gear extender and shift selector and it will fix you 3 gear problem I wonder if that is true. Also mi 3 gear won't engage at all it just grind. Also I buy the dcr bushings will this help ?
@AlexAutoFun
5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jose, I would start by eliminating the basics, bushings and adjusting the shifter cable and adjusting the clutch disengagement point (clutch pivot rod), The 3rd gear gear extender is a little more work so I would do that last, hopefully you'll figure it out bud!

Why you adjust the cable on 3rd gear?
@AlexAutoFun
4 жыл бұрын
Hi David, the service manual calls for the cable to be adjusted in 3rd or 4th gear. I had better results with 3rd. Now there are some guys out there who will also adjust it by wiggling it on neutral, It's really depending on the car I think and some personal preference.
