Have a shop rebuild the trans with alto red eagle plates, super servo motor, and a (preferably custom oversized) big bore shift kit, and 2200 stall converter. Up the line pressure a bit, and you'll never blow it up again. I had it done to mine, kicks the ass end loose shifting into 2nd.

not sure of the exact term but where the torque converter meets the pump it basically did the same as an engine when it spins a bearing. the torque convertor had a groove in it and caused the fluid to pour out. it still ran and moved but meant a new pump and convertor. so we just replaced it as a whole. and it ended up being a free on at that. the old one had 220,000 miles and hauled horse trailers its whole life so it was wore out any ways.

Bought my '95 Ram 1500 with the 5.9L 3 weeks ago. 9" Lift total, 6Sus/3Body. I bought it on 33s, I'm looking for a nice set of KM2 38s for it. Looks funny as hell with the 33s on it, lol. The guy before me had 40s on it, so the Speedometer is fucked up from the tire change. I'll be going 50 and it says I'm doing 80, no joke. I believe he swapped the gears, not sure though. I'm getting 7-9mpg atm, its going to suck hard with the bigger tires. I'm not really a Dodge fan, but I couldn't resist...

Dodge automatic transmissions are complete crap out of the factory anyway. Best to kill it going mud bogging than to wait for it to go out on your way work shortly after it reaches 100,000 miles.

@kezzyjo1 yes that is true. i have a blue 98 and was told the trans was rebuilt when i got it, that was 3 years ago and know im at 200,000 miles and no problems with it. it is a 98 though. i guess late modle 97 and up had a little better transission, i actully had the transmission go out on me yesterday in my 97 sebring, to the scrap yard it goes lol. but somthing about dodge/chrylser i like, thats why im getting a 03 2 door stratus this weel.

@fordboy111591 that sucks. we got another one put in this shortly after. bought a 2000 ram 2500 for the transmission for 600 sold the axles for 600 and a bunch of other parts off it so we end up with more money then when we bought it for so it was like a free transmission. but it went out the begining of this year so it needs another one again.

lol car fax only works for reported incidents. tow trucks get expensive lol but then again so do transmissions. the axles are good we had just put in dana 70/60. its a old worn out truck. 230,000 miles and hauled horse trailers its whole life. we knew it would break eventually. he had another engine ready to go into it when this one went. wasn't expiating the trans to go but oddly enough a new rebuilt one went in that week and he didn't have to pay for it. lucky him!

lol. yeah that would work till you lost momentum. we've gone through it so many times now with everything imaginable that it had got to a point that it would need some bigger tires and a lot of wheel speed. just watch the other videos of this truck. he didn't get a lot of speed going into to cus before this we were pulling in and right back out. didn't think we were going to find a spot as soft as what it hit. and then the axles bottomed out. it was still fun.
