After testing the bulb, turn signal assembly/ housing, grounds, and multi-function switch, I determined that the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) was the culprit for my blinker/ turn signal not illuminating.
I then replaced the TIPM with a used one and it worked for about a year then failed again. ($250+ excluding reflash cost)
Eventually I bypassed the TIPM by putting in my own illuminated switch. Yes, it takes some getting used to and it needs to be manually turned off (like a motorcycle), but the illumination and sound of the flasher will prompt me to turn it off every time (it has also already outlived the TIPM swap repair).
A) I cut the original 12V (POS+) to both turn signals (and left the chassis ground alone)
B) Ran loomed/ insulated 14 ga. wire (in parallel) through the firewall and under the dash
C) I then pulled 12V (POS+) from the battery, fused it and ran it to a flasher relay and from the flasher to an illuminated switch and from the switch to the wires now connected to the turn signals.
