I wish this live show had been after Saturday's game, when the much-maligned bottom of the Dodgers' lineup went 6 for 12, scored 5, and drove in 2 in the 7-2 win. Notables are Lux smacked a HR, Biggio played small ball with a bunt single right before Ohtani went yard, yet again, and Miggy Ro extended the team's streak to 22-0 when he gets at least 1 hit. Great win!

Real nice to see Michael Peterson get a shot, and after a fabulous year so far in AAA, with 1.61 ERA in the very hitter friendly PCL, an impressive accomplishment to be sure, hw hasn’t looked out of place int he 3 innings he pitched only giving up one hit, and this is with the added nerves of your MLB debut. Peterson to me looks like he should at least be given a fair shot at sticking at this level, and I feel pretty good about his doing just that given the chance. He deserves it.

Just to add a little to Peterson’s story,, although he’s 30, he only made it to the AA level last year, and then got promoted to AAA for the first time last year as well, with an ERA around 3 pitching for ABQ in their band box. He then goes to being an elite reliever for OKC this year, and also got his MLB debut. He’s a veteran only in years and is very low mileage, kicking around rookie and A ball from 2016-19, being out of the game for 4 years basically excluding a single appearance in 2022, and the being resurrected last year. He’s only thrown 266 innings in his entire career, and outside of rookie ball he’s never had an ERA above 3.46 in any season at anly level. He’s more like a 25 year old in terms of mileage and together with the superior coaching of the Dodgers, he has some rea potential to be an impact reliever for a few years.

I used to be of the mindset that with the pitch clock you need to have Moore bulk guys so everyone can pitch on 5 days rest, where yo use the bulk guy to fill in the gaps when you don’t get an off day for the 5 guys but I’m leaning now more toward going with a 6 man rotation and using the off days as additional rest. Roberts has definitely gotten to see the benefits of his resting our starters more, and they are not only going longer but not crashing iso much behind 5 innings. This saves the pen like nothing else and also gives you better results from the starters Our starters have gone from 9th in the NL last year to 2nd this year and have shaved off about a run per game from last year. This has been despite all those injuries. Going with a full time 6 man rotation as long as you have the guys to plug in there will take this to the next level..

I didn’t mind seeing Knack get taken out after 5, and managing his workload and confidence is more important than squeezing another inning out of him. I’m quick to question decisions that don’t look right though, and with only 4 guys in the rotation and Knack doing nothing but impressing, and with no better option right now, he’s got to be the 5th guy. Based upon what he’s shown so far, he deserves to be in the rotation even with Yoshi back. We need to go with a 6 man rotation anyway and Landon isn’t even the 6th best. He’s actually been the beet period so far

Can the Dodgers not play fundamental baseball? They don't move runners over, get guys on base, bunt, hit and run, and try to manufacture runs. How can a pitcher hit 3 batters in one inning and keep on pitching?

Why was Knack taken out when he only allowed 2 hits and his pitch count was only in the 70s. He should of pitched another inning. I’ve been saying all along, why not trade for Zach Neto for SS?

River Ryan’s working his way back and while his first start back with OKC didn’t go so well, 2 runs in 0,2, he just pitched 2 innings on 1 hit and no runs, so that’s more promising. He gave up 8 ER in 12 IP for OKC last year, so he hasn’t really shown he even belongs at that level but he’s looking to do that this year. He may be able to start contributing to the big tram in 2025. You can’t have too many good pitching prospects and we should trade exactly zero of these guys, the ones you trade are ones that are unlikely to ever make the team. Kudos to the Dodgers for resisting this temptation and it’s not only about now it’s about down the road as well, and the Dodgers manage both very well. This needs to continue. As fans we should ve appreciating both the club doing well isn’t eh present and the excitement of seeing the prospects develop as well to better ensure we stay on top.

Saw another post on my news feed on the Dodgers trading for an outfielder. This guy goes as far as giving us his top 10 choices. Why do we need to trade for an outfielder? Sure, it would be nice to replace Taylor but we could do that now. Someone else said that, among other things, they know Andrew Friedman and know he will trade for an outfielder. I’m not sure where that comes from, is this guy watching a loop of the Betts trade and then fooling himself into thinking this happens all the time? Aside from Taylor who clearly has not performed well enough to be more than a batt boy, we’ve actually got a very nice OF now with Teo and Andy as erveryday players and J-Hey and Varrgie makign a nice platoon. Sure, we could trade for someone, but the price that would need to be paid would be to just iupgrade from Vargas, who is looking good at this point. If he starts to stink and we need to send him down, Outie is figuring it out again and Doc has said he expects him back once we gets his head together again. We’d need to wait unti both these scenarios didn[t pan out before we could say that there was a need for a trade, period. If we were going to trade for someone it would be for a pitcher, a top reliever to be specific, as even with all the injuries we are set up pretty well, and Knack has performed as a top 3 starter so far and deserves a longer runway before we can say he’s not going to work out. Kerch is coming back soon and this will give us 6 good options. What defines Friedman is his ability to get useful pieces out of the garbage dump, and he’s still doing it. That’s the sort of additions that really help because you get them so cheaply. Thankfully, he runs the team, not these hacks, something we should be thankful for every day.

What’s not to like about Miggy Ro’s performance this year? He did have a rather anemic bat last year when he was thrown into the SS role full time, but since then he’s been eating his Wheaties and while he’s no Mookie Betts he is an above average hitter this year as well as being an above average SS. Rojas is also a real leader on the field, something that we usually don’t take into account enough. This reminds me of that song, the search is over you were with me all the while.
