Sitting in our cold house on a Saturday waiting for a HVAC repairman to come on Monday to troubleshoot our boiler. I have been watching yours and similar videos to get a better understanding of the entire system. Our older system has 4 zones and looks to be all in the correct location except our expansion tank is mounted horizontal. The boiler won't fire for some reason. Several days ago it failed to fire and I turned off the power main power switch momentarily and back on and the flue valve opened and the boiler fired up. That trick stopped working for me and now stone cold. Only the pilot is working. As far as maintenance they come and vacuum out like you did and that's it for $85. Just looking at the condition I see water leaking from the air scoop thingy. The expansion valve is probably beyond it's service life and maybe several other components. I'm a retired airline mechanic and things like this really interest me. This hydronic heating doesn't seem to be popular and fewer repairmen will take the job. I'm thinking transformer failed. It needs a major inspection and overhaul like a aircraft.

I live in Texas, so the only knowledge I have on boilers is from you and Daniel-son. I've been watching you for 3 years. I do watch Steve L in NE, because he's pretty darn funny. "She's a crusty one!" If I ever a home I will put hydronic in slab heating. I hate forced air heating! Shalom.

Good job Micheal. 😊 I was a boilerman for the state. Worked on massive Cleaver Brooks steam and hydronic boilers. Principles the same but on alot larger equipment. Dual fuel that we tuned every year. Kinda miss it. Enjoy watching your videos. Good to see someone who cares about what they do.

@@cliveramsbotty6077 Pick a company brand an Google the proper installation. Most come with directions on proper positioning. To my knowledge their is only 1 brand that can be installed laying flat a that is for domestic hot water not a home residential/commercial heating boiler. Now can you install it backwards? Yes but the diaphragm inside was not designed to have pressure on only one part of the diaphragm.. usually result in early failure. I can always tell if an install was inspected by an Inspector, if it’s in the wrong position you know a permit was not drawled on the install an/or replacement if Things are not properly professionally installed correctly ( edited fur a spell boo boo)

Shalom Mikey!!! Have you ever left a non luminous pilot flame blue and blowing ?? It appears that all the pilot lights are left yellow tipped only to produce soot and or aldehyde odors...using the tip wire of a pipe cleaner after burning and twisting away the fiber material works great in cleaning the pilot orifice...very surprised that you don't ✔️ check the burner orifices for spiders...lastly that you don't place the burner panel door on the floor as the Boiler is firing up as a shield to protect against gas man eczema 😂😂..just curious and humble suggestions 😂🎉🎉🎉Toda and Shalom
