Did anyone find the shark? Also, does word count actually matter? Answer in 140 characters or less.

00:01 Word count doesn't matter for blog post traffic. 02:05 The length of a blog post correlates with social shares, backlinks, and organic traffic. 03:58 The right length of a blog post depends on the content. 05:32 Word count does not matter, what matters is conveying the main points effectively. 07:12 Word count doesn't matter as much as the quality of content. 08:57 Using video clips in blog posts is more effective than photos and words alone. 10:40 Adding unique value and perspective as bloggers by conducting research studies or collecting data 12:24 Applying concepts from staple posts to shorter posts for maximum value

I tend to keep it between 1200 and 2200 words because 1200 tends to be plenty to fully answer a basic question, and over 2200 can become a run-on. I really don't set out to write any specific word count, it just works out that way.
@matth8205

This has always seemed obvious to me. If I’m writing an article I write to cover it too the best of my ability and the word count is just the word count. Some could be 1000 words and some could be 3000. I think the correlation with more traffic and larger post word count is probably covering the article properly but with excess fluff google isn’t interested in.

After writing many articles on topics that I know a lot about, I have found that my newer websites are better. Why? Because I'm writing about something that I know nearly NOTHING about. So every article is basically me answering my own questions through research. As I write a new post the "but how does it work?" and "why is that?" questions pop into my mind and I have new topics to write and research about. If in the end I have become an expert, then the website will be great as well.

Word count indeed matters significantly. Consider the competition on the first page for a keyword such as "how to start a blog," where competitors are publishing articles exceeding 10,000 words. The optimal length of a blog post depends on what your competitors are doing. If you aim to outrank them, prepare to surpass them both in quality and word count, at least Google algorithm feels this way.

It may have at some point, but definitely not now. Shorter posts often outrank longer ones. Don’t think longer, think better and more helpful.

I live in FL so I'm familiar with the "ice cream and shark" statistics and the connection is obvious when you think about it: summer activities. More people eat ice cream in the summer and more people go in the ocean in the summer. Before you worry about sharks though, falling coconuts kill more people every year than sharks do. Actually, more people die falling out of bed than die from falling coconuts.

Nowhere is safe! 😁 You’re absolutely right. Just because things correlate doesn’t mean that one causes the other. It’s one of the great logical blunders.
@BonytoBeastly

Hm. There's another factor to consider, though. More people might die from coconuts than sharks, but more people might be walking under coconut trees than swimming in shark-infested waters. Similarly, far more people sleep in raised beds than walk under coconut trees. I'm across the water in Cancun. Sharks don't come around here very often. No need to be scared of them. I do worry about coconut trees, though. I wouldn't relax under a coconut tree reading a book. I'd rather sit under a palapa. I tell me son the same thing. I have no idea if I'm being paranoid, but I'd never forgive myself if I let my kid be killed by a coconut.

The answer lies in what the user think. If you are looking for an answer for whatever topic, you want the most comprehensive answer but you do not want to sit and read for hours that. This is why the Rick method words. You are addressing the demand.

I want to share something with you that comes from a place of appreciation. Many of us watching your videos are genuinely seeking solutions to help our websites thrive and support our livelihoods. Sometimes, when humor is incorporated into these crucial topics, it might not resonate well with the audience. I truly admire your content and your dedication, but it can be tough when humor is introduced into subjects that mean a lot to us as viewers. I believe focusing more on the serious aspects could better serve the needs of your audience. Even I understand that you might use humor to improve audience retention, and I agree that it can work. However, its impact varies based on the topics and whether the humor is funny or cringey. Just an honest opinion to consider!❤

I appreciate your feedback. If I (Ricky) could get away with just teaching, I probably would most of the time. But at you said, audience retention is important. If these videos weren’t as engaging for as many people, they wouldn’t be recommended to as many people and it’s unlikely you’d even know about this channel. KZitem videos, like other content, has to appeal to a broad enough group of people or it won’t be found by those who would appreciate it even more if it were less humorous. Plus, we have to be ourselves or the content wouldn’t be any fun to make. And we enjoy some levity. So we’re just sharing a piece of ourselves in our content.

So if you're doing a listicle, does it matter if you write more things in your list than what's ranking in top ? like if someone has "top 10 hotels" how do you compete if not make a longer list
@IncomeSchool
10 ай бұрын
You make a list that more helpful. Is definitely include some of the same top things if they really are the top things, but give more helpful information about each one, and/or include things that aren’t as obvious as what’s in most top 10 lists.

Re: the extra hour As an SEO vendor what I’m doing now is writing let’s say 5 articles for my client and then getting my client onto a Zoom call and recording it. In the call we talk about the key points from each article (5-10 mins each). Then I carve up that interview into 5 KZitem videos and embed each one on the respective post. What do you guys think of this tactic? Obviously some ppl are better on camera than others but I don’t think it matters. As long as the interview delivers authentic information.
