That is amazing! Great job! Quick Question: Do you eat anything before 2 pm if you are hungry like a small snack? Also, on vacation with other people, do you let yourself be a bit more lenient or stick to it?
@sarahwolfe1154
2 жыл бұрын
@@jesswinter Eating or drinking anything with calories will break your fast. 16 hrs is the lowest amount of time until your into the fasting stage. You may eventually be able to do 18/6, 20/4 or maybe even a full 24 hr fast. As far as being on vacation, if you've stuck with your plan for a while, you can reward yourself, it's vacation after all. Just be careful because after your vacation you might fall back into old habits if you do decide to reward yourself.

I know that a recent study shows that there's no weight loss difference between intermittent fasting and calorie restriction. Well... here's what I think: 1) intermittent fasting helps you develop a little self control 2) it helps you learn how much you actually "need" to eat to stay healthy 3) it helps you break the cycle of eating your emotions (happy or angry or crying etc) 4) a 16ish hour window when you are not processing food allows your intestine linings to heal 5) your liver begins breaking down stored fat (as opposed to fat floating around in your blood) for energy thus priming your body to begin harvesting body fat for energy 6) it prompts mental clarity 7) it gives you a little more free time on your day when you're not cooking/eating During my work week I eat inside of a 4 hour window and on my weekends I slide it in or out by 2 hours. Normally I eat everything in a 2ish hour window on my weekends. It feels amazing being satiated for 20ish hours on high animal fat intake. And it's liberating going so long not worried about food, not cooking, etc.

fasting is the best thing ever, even if you don't follow a diet and you eat a lot of unhealthy food, it will be the beginning of your health journey because it burns a lot of fat, lower down the blood sugar (so, you won't curve sugar all the time like before), and it keeps you focused.

I am an IFer and started Keto last year. I have been ICing for 3 years. I also use a mobile tracker. Extended fasts are easier for me because after 24 hours, I am not hungry but kudos to you for 7 days!!! 48 has been my longest. Iced tea and Iced plain coffee plus tons of water helps. I had been doing 20 hour fasts (OMAD) and eating whatever but, while I felt good and healed some aspects of my body, I wasn't losing weight. Keto and IF made the scale budge. Now I am more relaxed on fasting doing 16 or more when I feel like it and flexing my eating window up or down. I used to be super strict with that 20 hour fast, and often went to 23 and OMAD, but it was getting difficult to do that when I ate low carb. This approach seems to work for me....and as far as black coffee....it is now my preference and get kinda grossed out with creamers.

I've done probably about a dozen 10 day water fasts (for religious and weightloss benefits). I don't recommend it. I use to be able to bench my weight (200+lbs), now I'm lucky if I can bench 100lbs. I do like the idea of a 3 day prolonged fast, but you probably want to consume some olive oil to keep your plumbing moving and maybe some teas/lemon juice too. As for I.F. I use a 16/8, 18/6, 20/4 or for special occassions OMAD. I've found if you eat, sleep and wake up at the same time (give or take an hour or two) the body works better. It might be a bit boring, but its healthier. Love the channel, keep it up!

Excellent video. I started fasting 10 years ago when it was not in fashion to do so; in fact, I kept it on the down low because if I revealed it, I did receive negative feedback which was misguided since this is such a common sense approach: your body taps into stored fat in the prolonged absence of food. At this stage, I do 16:8 (leangains) but the 20:4 (warrior) approach is easy when I need it and if I’m especially motivated, the 23:1 (OMAD). The longest extended fast for me is 4 days. When starting I.M. the first time, ease into it by first cutting most carbs (be carb adapted) - it helps with hunger. I am 5’1” and 60 years old. At my heaviest, I weighed 165 lbs; I now fluctuate between 130-135 lbs. For me, that’s a healthy weight since I do exercise 5 days a week.

Always talk to a physician first…diabetics and those with blood sugar issues may not be good candidates for this. I did no calorie counting either. The fats and protein generally keep you full. Go for it! I exercised like a fiend before IF and only lost 20 pounds after 6 months. Guess it’s the insulin thing that does the trick!

Being retired now, my girlfriends and I tend to meet for lunch more often than we do dinner. During my "fed" time I am doing clean keto. So far the weight is just falling off - I've never seen anything like it. I'm never hungry either. Dinner time sneaks up on me since my stomach is never growling or asking to be fed - ha! It's pretty incredible, truly.

I drink Brooks Broth and it's helped me tremendously with weight loss. I had to look far and wide for a broth that has Zero preservatives and uses actual chicken feet (known for its health benefits), which is a rare find. Like Myra, I drink it in the mornings plus add it to foods while cooking. Great video!

Why don't you prepare your broth from fresh chicken?🤔

I love IF because it works with my schedule. I do a 16/8 schedule and sometimes fast for 18-19 hours. I drink a lot of tea and water during my fasting and it helps my cravings. Ive noticed a huge difference in my mental health as well as my physical.

Thank you for your video and recipes. I have gotten off my path of my health. After the doc told me that I was no longer pre diabetic and heart disease. I’m trying to get back to my healthy ways. But so much temptation. A lot all so has changed like my sister is on days now and she doesn’t eat healthy like me. She like to eat fast food a lot and other things. No I’m not making excuses for my behavior. I just need help in telling her that I don’t eat out all the time. I eat at home mostly. I just need some guidance. I feel like I have to start all over again. Which I feel like it is harder this time. Please don’t judge me. I hope I’m not the only one out there struggling like this.

I dunno what's wrong with me, i absolutely believe fasting is healthy and the science makes sense, but I've been fasting 16-20 hours a day for 3 months and I've lost 3 pounds. 😐 i have about 25 to lose. And I'm fasting clean (water only), and hungry all the time. 😒

I guess it depends on your body type. People are seeing changes in less than a week but you and me are not😑. It's kinda demotivating when you're also doing exercise with it🙂🥲.

Question , how you did it in the day, because if I don’t eat my vision is blurry I can’t do nothing, I drink a lot of water, but doesn’t make feel full in my stomach, yes I’m diabetic my sugar label are low, but I can’t loose any weight, I will like to know how you did it, please if you are so kind can you give me some tips of how you did it. Now one more thing I get up @3am M/F, so my routine is not like the normal people, I go to bed by 7/8pm. I think personal that is my biggest problem not know to manage my diet. Thank you 🙏 in advance.

I would like to do intermittent fasting but I workout at 4am before work and drink an Amino Energy drink. I know that would break my fast so wanted to see if you have any recommendations on pre workouts that won’t break fast. I’m not a coffee drinker. Thank you!!

I fast from about 8pm to 12 or 1 pm the next day. I do dirty keto. That's what works for me. I do have a cheat day once a week. Not always the same day of the week either. Been doing this for a year now. I am happy with this and maintaining where I want to be.

I do IF everyday. I wake up at 8.3,0am, walk my dogs, clean the house, do my morning workout, and finally break my fast after making lunch at 1pm :D. dinner time can be anytime between 7pm and 9pm. I find that I don't get hungry in the morning when I eat enough protein for dinner the night before. if I eat too much carbs, I won't have energy the next morning.

Doing one meal a day and two meals days I’m really hungry between 12pm and 8pm, eating my favorite nourishing foods, especially kombucha. Synergy is sooo yummy and they have so many flavors, especially at a whole foods or Mothers. Literally never really bloated anymore, food tastes way better, and energy levels and sleep 🤌🏾

Fasting was the best decision I ever made. I track my hours with the app Zero. In 1 year I lost 70 lbs. I’m still on my weight loss journey. I did increase my hours of fasting little by little until you get to my goal hour window. Best of luck to everyone. I

i am very easily able to fast, i can fast for 3 days and eat for 4 days. The problem i have been having, is staying off carbs when i do eat. And this is not helping me, because if i lost weight fasting, i gain it back when i eat, so i am maintaining my weight, instead of losing. Do you find you are craving carbs after you have fasted? and what do you do about it?
