Yes, it gets hot here in this great grand valley but, summers are shorter and not as hot as Sacramento, Calif. where I was born. Grand Junction is paradise!

"Arizona hot" applies to Phoenix, Yuma, and maybe even Tucson, but Flagstaff has never recorded a temperature higher than 97. With that said, I understand your point. Phoenix can see 100 degree highs for 100 days in a row. What's worse is that lows on some of those days are in the low 90s. It is frequently still 100 degrees at midnight in Phoenix.

Hey Robert! Coming from a very humid state (MN), you are right about the heat. And I would much rather have too much heat than too much cold! Last weekend we went up to Grand Mesa where it was 25° cooler to go dirtbiking. You get to pick whether you want to drive a short way up to cooler weather or enjoy the water activities such as tubing at Las Colonias. (Which was super fun!) Also, I love when it rains. It doesn't last long and you get the most magnificent sunsets afterwards. Some with double rainbows. Thanks again for helping us find a great home.

Don’t want to be that guy that’s always dropping a comment as this is back to back weeks, but……We visited in the middle of summer with the sole intention of seeing how the summer heat felt. On our visit we had 96, 98, 95 and 94 and NEVER felt uncomfortable. And I don’t like it hot!

There can of course be microclimates in different areas also. We're in the Redlands and it's SO GOOD that you're saying 15-ish days/year at 100 or higher, because I just pulled the data off my weather station and in the last 31 days we've had 12 days between 100.0 and 106.5. Almost there! 🙂 I'm not crying about it because it's hot almost everywhere, and I sympathize with those places that don't normally see the high heat on a regular basis. But tolerating the few weeks of hot isn't all that bad in the course of a year.

@@LivinginGrandJunctionColorado Update (Cue Pink Panther: Later that same month...) Wow, if you want a side hustle, do it as a weatherman! Outstanding numbers you gave us! So I looked at the airport data and it showed only 6 days of 100+ (but who lives there?), and a Redland's station showed 16 days. Thanks for the great and accurate info, Robert! 🙂
