You and me both!😂 This bike is such a great basis for accessories and customization. It is going to be a blast. I have a bunch of accessories that I am still going to throw on as well as an oil cooler. I am really keen to see what difference that makes!

I did the same thing to my CT125. That gauge should be stock from the factory. So nice.

Huge Kudos to OPMID for stepping up and making this thing for these little bikes! I disappointed to see the latest version of the Honda Trail has not really been improved on, in any realistic way, for the 2023 model.

Nice gauge I really like it. Do you have to change the oil pump if adding the oil cooler

A bigger oil pump is nice but probably not required. It was recommended to me so I did it.

If you press the C button twice, it will give you the maximum of the speedometer readings. For example, max speed, rpm and temperature. Just reset it with a long push before you try to measure this, sometimes on startup mine registers 13k rpm. Also for anyone doing this, make sure you record the odometer before you disconnect the head unit. You won’t get another opportunity to record it.

Great point on recording the odometer BEFORE you disconnect the head unit! I got too excited to put the new unit in and failed to record it. 🫣 Nice command sequence to see maxes!

Can you calibrate the opmid? I have problem with my speedometer it showing like 20km/h faster than it supposed to.

Yes. The Opmid is fully calibratable for speed.

I’ve definitely been over 180°c a couple times last summer after installing the opmid, stock drivetrain
@QuantiQualification

Really good information! That is 356 Fahrenheit, which is close to my max temp. It's interesting to see that you were that high on the stock drive train. Thank you.

@@QuantiQualification I’m testing a new cooling system on my ct125. Might post a video of it soon

@Arash e Qajar That would be amazing. I have an oil cooler that I should be slapping on before the weekend as well, and I would love to see the difference in cooling between my big bore kit and your stock drivetrain with a cooler in place.

@@arasheqajar Just subscribed to your channel if you do post a video. What were the summer outdoor temps when you were hitting 180 degrees Celsius?
@arasheqajar
Жыл бұрын
@@QuantiQualification it happened mostly on HWY 120, a few times from Modesto eastbound & a few times from Yosemite headed westbound. Always >80°F, sometimes >90°F & long uphills loaded at gvm. I was changing my oil once a week to deal with it & the oil was always black. Once I started stopping to cool down & got my Morin oil cooler, that problem lessened dramatically but it created other problems like fender clearance & restricted engine access

So, trying to find out what the stock gauge DOES show, this was a search result. If ya don't mind, could you tell me what your stock gauge shows you? I'll try to see if there's a Daily Rider review of it I guess, and just hope he (Zach from RevZilla) mentions the speedo in detail :/

@QuantiQualification Thanks, unfortunately, Daily Rider doesn't have a CT125 review and I was thinking of Motorcyclist Magazine with Adam Waheed, used to like the MC Commute videos but Adam has moments where he drives carelessly and like a prick to put it short and nicely. So, I mean to say thank you as the info on what the the dash actually displays isn't widely out there, plenty of results for dash replacement though.. so that should say something haha..

I never did a full review of the CT125 stock which I regret now. Would have been nice before I started modifying. Thank you for the kind words!

why didnt honda install the meter at the factory .
@QuantiQualification
Жыл бұрын
That is a great question. Honda certainly could (should) have. It would have been lovely if they put a conventional tachometer over a digital display with some functionality like the OPMID straight from the factory. Instead they gave it a pretty mundane digital gauge.
