Does Kia Picanto have Turbo?
The Picanto GT is a lively little city car, with lots of red flashes to provide a sporty sense to the overall appearance of the vehicle. It is supported by machine-finished alloy wheels of 16 inches in diameter and shod with 195/45R16 rubber. The outside of our test vehicle was painted in Clear White, which is one of four available colors for the GT and the one that stands out to me the most. It is also the only color that does not cost extra for the GT. In addition, you have the choice of Astro Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, and Signal Red, each of which will add an additional cost.
On the other hand, the Picanto GT does not come with any further customization choices. When compared to other cars in its price range, it features an equipment list that is very outstanding and comprehensive.
The seats, which are black with red leather accents and soft and supportive, welcome passengers in a welcoming manner. The Picanto also features a wonderful high hip point, which makes getting in and out of the vehicle quite simple. The look of a racing car is carried over from the outside of the GT into the inside, which has a leather-wrapped steering wheel with additional red accents. It is not too complicated though, and it is just the right amount to give you the impression that the GT is a vehicle that is in a class of its own.
Highlights of the standard equipment include a color touchscreen measuring 8.0 inches with AM/FM radio; however, there is no DAB+ radio included. In addition, there is streaming over Bluetooth; however, considering that wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available, the capability to connect to Bluetooth almost seems superfluous.
We did not have any problems when using wireless CarPlay, and the system was able to quickly boot up within a second or two of the ignition being turned on. We have seen hiccups while using wireless technology of a comparable kind in automobiles that cost three to four times as much as the Picanto GT. Kudos to Kia.
The cabin is somewhat unremarkable, but the satin-silver finishes give it a touch of class. The GT requires you to use the key in order to start and stop the engine, since there is no stop/start button on the dashboard. Additionally, the air conditioning is of the manual sort. Quaint. A dash of speed is added by alloy sports pedals, and a roomy foot rest for the driver is positioned in the ideal spot for those occasions when they are not making use of the third pedal.
A solitary USB port and a 12V power outlet are provided for charging electronic gadgets. A pair of cupholders are located in front of the gearstick, and in front of that is a little storage compartment for stowing away other items. If your elbow is bent in that direction, there is a comfortable location to rest it on top of a central storage bin that is only somewhat large.
The space in the second row is surprisingly big for such a little vehicle, and there is more than sufficient room behind my driving position of 173 centimeters. It is hardly the epitome of luxury in terms of comfort, but neither is it too claustrophobic. The seats fold down in a 60:40 configuration to provide more room in the trunk, which has a capacity of 255 liters when all of the rows are occupied but increases to 1010 liters when the middle row is removed. That is well in line with the norm for the category. Under the floor of the boot is where you'll find the space-saving spare.
The characterful and thrummy 1.0-liter (998cc to be exact) in-line turbocharged three-cylinder engine that powers the Kia Picanto is, to put it simply, a thrill. The true party trick of the Kia Picanto is found beneath the hood. The Picanto GT is not the pinnacle of power and acceleration despite its 74-kW output at 4500 rpm and 172 Nm of torque between 1500 and 4000 rpm. However, this more than makes up for that by providing a meaningful and interesting way to spend the time spent driving.
