I feel KSI is going to mix it up between two styles, just to keep Tommy geussing. Still think Tommys going to win, but like you, i think KSI seem to be more sound now. Wish we could see more from Tommy training, but i guess hes keeping his work out private, to do the same to KSI and keep him guessing. Oh liking the demos as well.

Tommy is refining his technique for the fight since he can't find someone that fights like ksi but ksi trains with people that fight like tommy and refines his technique. I do think ksi works harder than Tommy but Tommy might have the slight advantage only because he has more experience. Tommy just seems like he doesn't take boxing as seriously as Tyson and only does it to pay the bills since he easily got distracted with other activities the last few years.

I suspect Tommy Fury has worked a lot of close-in boxing over the years. Sparring against Tyson, he wouldn't have the reach advantage, so he'd have to get in there and work. This new strategy of KSI getting in close to brawl is likely to play right into Fury's hands.

Like the insight mate - The power generated from the hook is not due to stretch reflex tho its due to rotational power. The back leg is at a slight stretch but the lead hook power comes from the front leg which is in a contracted position and not a stretch - you could say the anterior oblique sling of the back leg is possibly at a full stretch and helps the posterior oblique sling twist but if that right hand stays up to defend its not at a full stretch.

Agree with what you say regarding the lead left hook, I'd also add weight placement, in that when you throw the right, although you rotate the hips, your left foot is still ahead sharing the weight, whereas with the left hook all the weight is now on the left side. Not as good for balance but better for power.

I think there is alot of reasons for the hook power variation front to back. Elastic recoil in the lats biceps chest and anterior seratis as well as hip rotation and shoulder angle are at a disadvantage on the rear hand. weight shifting and or stepping off an angle or squaring up your stance helps the rear hand

I think his team made a critical mistake. I could be wrong, but usually, actual boxers have trained in different stances/different "styles" basically their entire career, and usually, they just go with whatever works for their career and their body down the stretch. We have to remember though, the amount of years under most boxer's belts. Some variation or even a straight up style change can be a great surprise for your oppenent, but theres two reasons I think this backfires, unless they are just baiting Tommy. 1. You just gave away the style change in a video 2. No matter how good KSI is today, the fact still stands, he hasn't been doing this for even a 1/3 of the time 99% of other boxers. I'm not entirely sure that switching things up works for a dude with such little experience. You can train all day every day, there is an instincual difference in an actual fight, no matter how hard your sparring partners went with you. You're in a controlled environment, and I've seen with my own eyes many times, that guys try to switch their whole gameplan up, and after one good shot, they just instinctively lose everything theu worked on in camp, and go right back to what they feel is the old faithful. Not a KSI hater or fan, but I just don't see why these guys are going to allow their prize fighter at this point to go.get handled by a pro this early on. We saw what happened to Jake, and despite what you guys may think, these boxers dont respect these guys. They get paid to go in there and have a glorified match. Tommy maybe pressed Jake a handful of times, the rest was just going through the motions. But because you guys talked shit because one moronic judge scored in favor of Jake, I think he's tryly going in there to end this influencer fight hype. At this point, someone in this space HAS to beat Tommy, or I think the train gets derailed. Will theu still profit, probably, but it will be old news to most people once they realize what most of us already knew. These guys don't stand a chance on the main stage. Every "pro" we've seen thus far, are the same guys that Jake likes to say Tommy fights. Glorified punching bags to pad records. If these influencers started with no money, and had to train like the rest of us at whatever gym will take us nearby, Jake and KSI would have never embarrased those guys either. Money IS a factor in martial arts, something the originators never wanted. Go train at any of these run of the mill martial arts gyms. They will have you working on BULLSHIT for months, yes, even boxing. Will you get better than before? Sure, but majority of your first year at most of these places, you can literally find online and do yourself. I had to BEG to spar someone with more experience, and it still took 6 months before I saw any kind of real training. This scene is only worth watching because I genuinely want to see some of these awful people get KO'd.

Sorry to hear that mate. What I mean is anyone can come from nothing in any realm not just boxing. And I totally understand about trauma. I've got really close friends who've been through horrible things as kids and teenagers and it still plagues them to this day, but they are successful in their lives (in shape, good careers, stable relationships). A few of them still drink and do drugs here and there and that trauma comes out, but for the most part they've got a grip of the 80% of their lives they need to. Anyone can turn it round. For every bad story, there's someone else who has it 10x worse and done 100x better. There comes a point we have to take responsibility and accountability. One of my previous mentors taught me 'it may not be your fault, but it's still your problem to fix'. And that was a life changing perspective shift for me. @@connorlammin8189 thanks Connor. I'll be sound eventually. Baby steps and patience is key. I'm doing little bits of heavy bag work now (it's awful ha) but it's a step in the right direction. Same for you mate, just take small steps. Don't try to conquer the mountain in one go. Focus on building the smallest habits, it could be something as simple as going for a daily walk or reading a chapter of a book or doing 10 reps of an exercise you can do daily. Then you'll start to build confidence and trust in yourself that you can be disciplined. Then you eventually start adding in bigger habits. Over a year or two you can drastically turn your life around. But it starts small. And ideally pack in the drinking too. It's not adding anything to your life (coming from someone who drank 5 doubles of whiskey per night and smoked weed daily to bury my problems). Start small, build up.

14:45 is a very good point you can also use a combo and footwork to create the torque, while being a beneficial movement such as cross right, pivot to left hook. Cheers mate love your videos💪🫡

I don't see a KO coming. I can't see KSI's power transferring well to Cruiserweight, & KSI certainly doesn't hit any harder than Jake Paul. & As we know from his history, Tommy himself doesn't get knockouts. Most of Tommy's wins are by decision, & this will be no different.

On the topic of the left hook. On a punch machine I got a higher score with my left hook than when I punched with my right (power hand) which I was confused about. Since then I’ve integrated more torque into my power hand and it’s now more powerful than my left hook most times.

it bothers me because these guys talk like they are something they are not, talking bwt he fears no man, hes different, no your a sideman end of! be who you are instead of being a man of weak character and fake!!! my point was made at the weekend, KSI is an absolute fake wannabe moron, you are the company you keep and he is friends with a scumbag like logan paul, guy needs to humble himself, he showed his true colours al the end when he showed no grace in losing and ha the audacity to claim he was robbed ahahaahaa robbed from throwing 5punches and hugging all fight! hes not a badman or a boxer, so stop talking like you are, he grew up privileged, if you cannot see my point than i understand that you are cut from the same cloth! KSI is an insecure little boy, his fans are 14 year olds, and he has an undeserved inflated EGO! his overall fakeness bothers me. @@davidpark2509

Yeah he did. He also did do them to a crazy extent. He almost rolls over onto his face. There's 1000s of athletes who do these with no issues, myself included. You just don't go silly with the range of motion that's all.

With that lead hook theory, you can also get the same effect pushing some weight into the lead leg, the undoing it as you throw the hook.

I don’t care how impressive KSI’s training looks, he’s not a boxer and never will be. Tommy although he’s an unknown quantity at world level and possibly even at domestic level is still a legit boxer who’s grown up boxing from when he was a child, and considerably bigger than KSI too. I think Tommy may struggle early doors but at some point boxing fundamentals will kick in, he’ll start measuring KSI and I think he’ll end up doing a proper job on him. Fighters leading up to a big fight all talk about how amazing their camps have been and how many world champs they’ve been sparring, it means fuck all on fight night. They can hold their own in sparring with world champs who are physically much bigger then get sparked out in a couple rounds of the actual fight. I’d be shocked if it isn’t a conclusive win for Tommy

KSI gets pasted. Tommy is a pro. KSI is an amateur with a lot of confidence due to being in the spotlight. I don't think his lack of fear gives him a significant edge over Tommy fury. This is boxing not fighting.

I disagree with the conditioning. Running, sprinting, hill sprints, air bike are all great cardio exercises and definitely translates well into combat sports. Anytime I’m getting ready for competition I increase these cardio exercises and I feel super fit on the mats. Also every fighter these days has some conventional strength work outs, whether it’s deadlift, squats, or any variation. It all translates into competing

For me grappling, mainly wrestling gives me crazy cardio. It's like running for me in terms of a good cardio workout. 10 min on the mat is like a 46 min run
@shaunjonesfighting
Жыл бұрын
Yeah im not entirely saying there's 0 crossover. I'm saying sports specific training is the best type of training you can do. I.e. if you want to improve your cardio for boxing, nothing will improve it more than doing a lot of boxing. The more specific it is the bigger the result is. Sure, running is an incredible tool for cardio, but these boxers get 90%+ of their cardio results from actually doing the sport of boxing/sparring endless rounds. Any high level strength and conditioning coach will say the same thing, that S&C supplements your training.
