That’s the best thing about Mesenbrink. Plus you know if hes down a good amount he’s always gonna fight back now with 3 point takedown and nore

@@NaterWrestle1037 Call it what you want but that’s the difference in being a 2x NCAA champ, and a freshman. 🤷🏻♂️ There’s no excuse for not knowing score in this situation. If unclear, you have every right to ask the official for clarification. First and foremost, you compete to win. Carr did that. 🙋🏻♂️. Never in the history of the sport, did a runner-up say, “yeah I lost but I didn’t stall so there’s that”. Like I said, MM will be better because of this loss. Just like Carr got better every time he lost to Keegan, Mitchell will come back on a mission next year.

MM has all try makings of a 3xer, as do so many Penn Staters. Cael has had 6 3xers since 2011. Don’t think anyone else has more than 2.

@@robertpalatsky5017 No doubt. It’s almost unfathomable to fully comprehend just how much they are gapping the competition. Never any issues and the guys always look like they’re having fun. @@jp12143 a lot of people graduate from high school at 17 years old which makes it even more crazy. But holding back kids for sport has always been a thing (especially in wrestling). Heck there’s kids that have an address listed that they don’t even live at as their home address to be able to wrestle at certain schools.

I’ll admit I’m a Hawkeye fan, and generally I don’t like the Nittany Lions cause they’ve been in Iowa’s way for years. That being said, Messenbrink is the type of wrestler I’ve been waiting for. He shows so much pressure and aggression in his wrestling, has better conditioning than anybody, has great technique, and genuinely loves wrestling. He’s very fun to watch, like the old school hawkeye wrestlers. The only thing I can see with him right now is he is a little stocky and could be a little quicker, but he gave David Carr a good match, something no one else apart from Keegan could do. He is going be absolute dynamite the next few years. I dare say he could beat Keegan next year

Running into Carr🎉 was a great object lesson for the freshman. The Champ got his big points early before the Mesenbrink machine got humming and played the long game to hold on. Mitch's pace is almost too frenetic for a few opponents (most of whom he overwhelms); He needs to occasionally downshift and shift tactics.

Half of mm points on Carr were from stalling not scoring. If his strategy was to win a title on stall points then so be it. They are both great wrestlers. Carr did what he needed to win! If it were needed he would have gotten a takedown like he did with KO.

I agree with you on DT. David was the best wrestler for PSU that I have seen and I've had season tickets for probably 25 years. He has 2 losses in his career and both were to Natty champs and his bonus rate is outrageous. Imagine him wrestling with today's scoring of the 3 point td and 4 point nf.
