My favorite is the P226, but the rest is in no particular order P229, P320 X Compact, P365, P227, 1911 Extreme, 1911 "We The People", MCX Virtus, Rattler & 716 G2 DMR. I was thinking about getting the 10 mm but I decided not to.

As a 1911 enthusiast, I actually can tell the difference. Then again I do all my own trigger jobs on 1911’s and have gotten them down to just under 2lb safely on a race gun I built. My Emperor Scorpion carry I did the trigger and adjusted sear spring, and it was just off. Fit a series 80 conversion plate and it feels like all my others now. Still one of my favorites.
@mitchelperkins6723

As a pistolsmith I can tell a massive difference, but true to your statement, most people won't know. A 80 series FP safety mechanism can be easily ( albeit very carefully) tuned to take a bunch of the mushy pull out. Not a task ANY home self proclaimed 'Smith should attempt. There is a danger of easily rendering the pistol unusable if the firing pin safety doesn't disengage during the trigger pull. I have tuned several dozen the correct way and achieved very nice smooth pulls in the 4.5-5# range, and they are crisp. Sig has always produced nice quality firearms. Really can't go wrong with most of their lineup. I'm old school 1911 "snobbish". The purist in me tells me the 80 series safety parts were a cure for a non-existent issue. More likely liability Lawyers brought about this change. Those parts can also be easily eliminated from a personal weapon, but NEVER for a customers gun.
@stevenglatfelter6568
2 ай бұрын
@mitchelperkins6723 yeah never for a customers gun lol. A while back I took my EDC 1911, a Para USA Black Ops to be cut for an optic. The custom shop did the work and I picked up the gun. When I was going through it I quickly realized they removed the series 80 pieces as they wouldn't work with the optic cut. The shop never told me that would be necessary prior to doing the work, never told me they removed the parts when I picked up the gun. It was a complete surprise. I can't say I miss those parts at all.

Picked up a 1911 X and have run nearly 100 quick rounds. My observation was that slide lock seemed to occur when using other magazines and not the Mec-Gar magazines that came with the X. Any coated weapon of 1911 design most likely just needs a few mags for break-in time. Most coatings are a little gummy during first heat ups from shooting. Every pistol I build is tested before finishing is applied. Once they function correctly, they are disassembled, cleaned and finish applied. I do hot bluing and Ceracote. Blued guns seldom need anything but correct lube, where nearly every Ceracote finished piece peels a little off the breechface and extractor. Usually a simple wipe down on those two parts or at most a soft toothbrush rub gets them running correctly. I have one personal 1911 commander I built and spent the funds for DLC coating. I prefer it to any other finish, but wait time and expense takes that out of many customers budget constraints. But if you have the time.and dollars, DLC is tough to beat.

Then my 229 and 226 Tactical I’ve carried in the 2000’s. Not a fan of 365 or 320 triggers. I can’t trust for protection any 1911 that’s not custom. Way too many jams over the past 4 decades. Good review brother. The one I have is good overall, but you were spot on about the trigger. Still better than most striker fired guns, but not as smooth as most 70 series. The biggest gripe I have is the grip safety has to be derepressed all the way and not 1/3 to 1/2 the way like a lot of other good 1911s. This is only an issue some of the time when drawing fast and my grip may not be the best, which can happen from time to time. I’m pleased with mine even with the things stated above. I can get it tuned if I wanted to and end the small issues I have with it. It may seem expensive, but try to find another reliable American made 1911 with these features for that street price.

If sig makes a double stack 1911 with a bull barrel that takes 320 mags ill have one in every colour. But they wont do that so ill save some money.

Damn... That's not even a choice. A Dan Wesson could be an heirloom. This is just a C+ gun.

My CZ75 SP01 is a production firearm, and it has ZERO rattle and perfect fitting. $800 And worth every cent. I love a Sig P226. But for $1600.... come on

When looking to purchase a 1911, I asked several gunsmiths who made a good 1911 without spending over $2,000. The answer was Sig and I've been a happy camper ever since!

The Sig 1911 Rattler. LOL I like that because it means more reliability. That is THE most important thing to me. Accuracy is number 2. 115g 9mm + 115g 9mm = 230g ACP

Looks nice, glad it's optic friendly, but man, 1500k plus for a single stack .45 1911? I could get a M400 tread v2 with adequate accessories for that price. Or maybe a Staccato P 2011 on sale. The 1911 fanbase must be quite the passionate and dedicated one if they are willing to spend thousands on a single stack .45 8 round mag pistol. For myself, if I had to buy a sig pistol for 1.5k, i'd more likely drift in the direction of a P226 legion with an optic....

First guns I think of when I think of Sig are their P226/P229 pistols. I got one of their Sig 1911’s, think it’s called the Sig 1911R that they offer in CA because of the stupid handgun roster…and honestly I still think it’s my favorite production level 1911; good sights, better trigger than my RIA or Remington 1911, the frame mounted rail easily takes any of my Streamlights without a fuss, and the checkering is aggressive enough that it leaves imprints in my hand by the time I finish my second magazine. Added bonus is that it’s hilarious seeing 1911 purists get their panties in a bunch over the proprietary slide design, external extractor, series 80 parts, and frame rail. Think the only way Sig could annoy them more is by offering their 1911’s in .38 Super and 9mm too.

All I know is that this 21 minute review on the Coyote Brown Sig Sauer 1911 X Full size received 120K views with nearly 600 comments generated in 4 weeks in which it was graded a C+ for an optics ready 1911. While relatively at the same time the Springfield Armory TRP also in Coyote Brown was reviewed by y’all for 31 minutes costing $500 more with no optics ready slide only received 53K views and a mere 300 comments yet was reviewed like a month prior with a B score… I wonder why? 🧐🤔… this observation coming from both a Springfield Armory & Sig Sauer 1911 fan…

I have a full size Scorpion, the original model, with the flat trigger, since 2013. Great gun. It is a weird slide and had to order a holster for it. High Threat Concealment, to bad the shut down the shop. Great holster. Run both the Sig mags and Chip McCormick without issues.

No, Sig will not come out with a 2011 anytime soon! They still have the P226 Legion and X5 models, not to mention the P320 AXG. Why would Sig offer another platform to cannibalize those sales? It would be cool if they did, but doesn’t seem like good business sense unless Sig discontinues one of those other pistols.

Thumbnail showing left side instead of common right side is a tell tale that it may has external extractor which does not belong on a 1911. Influencers and manufacturers with external extractor always gunna push left side picture to try shy away from the shame of external extractor. Don't believe me? Google Springfield or colt 1911 and you will see majority of pictures are right side but when you Google Smith Wesson or sig 1911 you will suddenly see a lot of left side pictures. Clearly implying manufacturers with external extractor 1911 think you are STUPID and will fail to notice before you brought it. Or you just don't know any better. 😂

Unbelievable, after all the bs talked about how slow the 45 acp round is and how it bounce off from a car windshield, SIG comes out with a 1911. Looks like the gun market has peaked since glock, and why would I buy a SIG 1911 when I can buy a Colt Gold Cup stainless steel for the same money.

At that price point there’s better options . Watched their 1911’s go up in price $100’s of dollars for same models no changes over the years . Why? Just because! Now they make this and see if they can get you by adding an optic. I’ll pass . Overpriced MIM gun.

I took the slide off my Sig 1911 when I built my custom 1911 (off a Para Ordnance frame) because I liked the slide. Wonder how the optics cut is.
