My last 3 cars were the Honda Odyssey EX-L... because we had small children. And in the Odyssey you can just push a button to slide the back door open for kids to get in and out during child pick-up at school. SO easy! And they loved the DVD entertainment center. As long as they were using headphones during long trips, the adults could still listen to the radio and NOT a child's movie for the 100th time. @@user-tb7rn1il3q " They are horrible in the snow and on rutted roads" Vans do just fine in the snow with good tires, and more of them are getting AWD, this point is wildly exaggerated. They have a LOT of weight over the wheels too, which is great for traction. Rutted road performance is whatever, minivans offer enough off road performance for most buyers needs, crossovers generally don't offer much more off road utility. "They can be hard to park" Compared to compact, subcompact crossovers and smaller mid sized? Yes, of course they're harder, they're bigger vehicles. Compared to full sized crossovers? Hell no, they're arguably easier due to the fact they have lower, and shorter hoods, and it's easier to see what's in front of you. Compared to full size SUVs like Tahoes, Esclades and Expeditions? minivans are much easier to park then those big beasts. "They don’t handle well" They sure as hell out handle the fuck out of most full sized SUVs and full sized crossovers. Ever drive a Mazda 5? "They tow less" Sure, but most minivan owners don't tow, so manufacturers don't bother tuning them for greater towing capabilities. It would be nice to see minivans reach 5,000 pounds though, up from 3,500. "They get worse mpg " They get way better MPG than full sized SUVs, and comparable MPG to full sized crossovers. The pacifica hybrid is getting 32 MPG, which full sized SUV/crossover is matching that? "SUVs are superior" They tow better, and have a little more ground clearance, that's it. Every where else, vans are better from handling, seating comfort, MPG, cargo hauling capability, ingress and egress, family friendliness with sliding doors, ease of use for disabled people, etc. Vans theoretically could do everything an SUV can, but SUVs can't do everything a van can, vans inherently have a more flexible body style.

Honda has stepped up their game. I rented a 2004 odyssey to take a 5hr trip upstate and it was sooo uncomfortable, my back hurt the entire time. Not to mention the interior was ALL hard plastic, Honda’s come a long way

Ok the toyota siena is a near perfect minivan, but its a very old modle. The honda odyssey is even better in every aspect expect it lacks the option of 4wd. So i ended up buying the Kia Sedona. Good desision for me.

The only thing I don’t like are the taillights at night. They could have done s better job. They look so cheesy at night. Like a sloppy led bar.

I used to have a 2005 Odyssey EX-L with Nav, and loved it. I actually traded it in for a 7-seater Subaru Tribeca (which by itself is not a bad car as such) and still regret that decision to this day.

Makes wonder if they have any fixes on the huge issues the new odyssey has, such as the RES freezing up all the time and the front screen also, and also the sliding door issues where it won’t close all the way at times, so you have to manually close it.

Bro next time have a salesperson show you the vehicle before you do a review. In the second row the middle seat can be removed making it easier to get into the third row, and the third row folds completely flat in the back giving you even more capacity than just the seats folding down. those are two of the biggest features you completely missed... And calling your family pain in the butts.... come on man..

A minivan is a good family vehicle for those with multiple kids. A minivan is a “chic” repellent for single guys. A minivan is a good vehicle to buy if you’re a good looking lady and you want to keep the “hounds” away. $48k for a ‘chic’ repellent doesn’t seem like a wise investment. Excellent funny video!!! 👍

I wouldn’t be caught dead in one. nowadays, I hardly see any minivans, and the ones I do, are like a good 10 years old. IF, I had a family of 4+ kids and took a lot of road trips etc, I might think of it. That crowd can be marketed to. i took a short road trip with my father in law in his mini van. 5 adults and 3 small kids, plus all the luggage fit in comfortably. suv 3rd row is a joke

If I had a bunch of kids to haul around, this is what I’d buy. I think the taillights look like two lobster claws playing tug of war with the chrome strip.🤔 Good job Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

DO NOT BUY IT! My brother bought it three months ago, it said the doors are automatically locked when the driver leaves with the key. But no, he wallet with $1100, was token yesterday from the car, and the camera, driver license, WITHOUT any damage. We called 911, when to dealer to check, the door is working fine. So it means someone can just open your door whenever they want. I called HONDA customer service asked if they can do anything for the car, and why someone can open it without a key, they said if they checked the car is fine, nothing Honda can do this situation and it’s not their responsibility, we should make sure the door is locked, which we did, and why someone can open it if it will “AUTOMATICALLY LOCKED”? Then Honda hung up on us.
