I was expecting the crash detection to be triggered only if it was an intense crash with the car being completely totalled. But even with your first test when the crash was light at low speed the phone picked it up. Honestly impressive.

Hand on heart. I had a crash with my iPhone in the car and my Apple Watch on. The car ended up on its side above a drop resting against some bushes. I was initially trapped as if I moved the car could have fallen and I didn’t know where my phone ended up. My watch called the emergency services and an automated voice gave them my latitude and longitude then paused for 30 seconds allowing me to say that I had indeed had a crash and I was trapped and to basically send everything. When they hung up it then did a countdown to call my emergency contacts, I had found my phone by this point and cancelled the call. Amazing technology

@@lelenny7725 Amazing new vehicle? What a joke. Unless you are buying a Toyota or Honda, they build them so cheap they are going to all be in the junkyards in 10 years because nobody's going to want to be putting a new transmission in your Equinox or Traverse when they fall apart after 100,000 miles. They already have major issues with their transmissions and cheap plastic parts breaking all over the place. Anyone that thinks their new Equinox or Traverse is going to last as long at the early 2000s vehicles does not know how those things are. They build them as fast as possible and as cheaply as possible, that is just the hard truth. No, your Ford Escape does not classify as an "amazing new vehicle". You should see the experience people had with them. Repairs after repairs after repairs and they aren't even 5 years old. I'm mainly talking about their new ones. So much plastic it is bound to get junked after 100,000 miles and nobody is going to want to be putting all their money into one.

@@andrews5003 What year do you own? I've found the Town Car and Grand Marquis to be one of the most reliable vehicles you can get if you are looking for a smooth riding used vehicle. They literally ride better than any new car I've been in, I have to say they actually are probably one of the smoothest riding vehicles you can get. I was recently in a 2021 Volkswagen Atlas with around 49,000 miles and it already was starting to shift like a junker. The thing shifted on turns and I was not very happy with it as it got annoying it shifted so many times and you could feel when it would too. It was a rental so maybe it was used pretty hard but still it shifts way too much for my liking. Wonder how many miles you have on your Grand Marquis as well.

Shows you the quality of the panther platform cars from ford mercury and lincoln, the car itself was made specifically for older blokes who wanted to buy a brand new car but wanted the old car feel, so it wasnt too complicated with technology and it was super comfortable and had a big v8 with a good old 4 speed trans, everything is basic and ultra reliable

@@yamen857depended on which car. The Grand Marquis was bought by a lot of older generation. But the taxi companies and police loved the Crown Vic. As for the Town Car, you were either a limo company wanting the best riding reliable car ever built. Or just someone that had money and wanted something serious yet iconic and timeless. Love my Town Car. Thing combines the best of both modern and old qualities of a luxury car.

@@Adam-vx6to Agreed: ten seconds instead of twenty isn't going to make a significant difference in an actual crash, and that delay is probably responsible for ruling out a lot of false positives.
