Thanks for a great review Geeky. I might be one of those edge cases where it may help because I'm in the western part of the US but not the West Coast and there's only one server that really close to me and I tend to connect to three different ones the other two being much farther away. I don't know that I need to spend $180 (£180 not sure which you said) to correct for it but it certainly gives me something to think about. Thank you.

Another informative video GP, thank you. Also, in case more words are needed in this comment to help the algorithm, here are more words.... Tank. Meal. Tree. Monkey. Purple. Dishwasher. Knife. Fork. Spoon. Hopefully that is enough words, as usually, I am a man of few words. More words may be required, so just in case, I shall complete two lines of text minimum, and a few more are required. Now I am in to my third line. Job done.

Great video. I've got an R3 - as I wanted to force UK/London servers only, for best ping possible. However, given certain issues with it, I've put it back in the box. It'll remain there until they deal with problems with better firmware. I'd probably not recommend.

What problems do you have with it?

@@GeekyPastimes I've a 900mb BT connection. BT connections are via PPPoE, the R3 caps out at approx 500mb on a PPPoE connection. So I had to keep my old router and put the R3 in the DMZ of the old router. Just a bit of a mess. There's some other grumbles as well, but that's the main one for me.

Hi do you think that this would benefit someone who has a very good Internet speed but regularly has wireless connection and drop out issues. It seems to be that I need a ISP router replacement a few times a year. The wireless part of it seems to reduce over time and isn't that good to begin with. Hardwired connection is very decent mostly.

@@byrnef1977 I wouldn't recommend it specifically to improve wifi. You'd like be better looking at a separate mesh system with several nodes.

i would love a follow up video especially on MP where the effects of SBMM are much more noticable. as you have said yourself in your own videos regarding WZ sbmm, the priority for WZ matchmaking is finding 99 other players to match you up with in the quickest time possible, however, in mp, most playlists are locked to 12 players, that should have a significant impact on SBMM, matchmaking and your experience in case this router works.

that was realy interesting, i heard about this, some years ago, for the #2 french streamer skyrroz, he does have this specific issue because he's living in mexico. He actually needed to force the only server close if he wanted to keep decent ping. now thanks to you, i could see exactly what he means.

Call of Duty itself should have its own setting to either define the region you want to connect to or your maximum acceptable ping, I know its in multiple other games where you can define the region and its great. But if I want to play cod at 2am more than half the time I get kidnapped to the US out of convenience most notably in WZ and Zombies. I'd rather wait a little longer for a space in a local game

I live in Northern Alberta and the only server that is playable below 50 ping is Seattle. If I don't geofence me to that server I will easily be connected to Miami and have 80 plus ping. It's very helpful if you are from places that have ridiculous amounts of empty space lol

On the Router info page it specifically says Saudi Arabia, I wonder why it says something different to what it is?
