I don't think any chiropractor worth their salt would say that they can cure paralysis. What they can do is treat conditions that affects the dog's mobility (numbness due to pinched nerves, muscles not releasing when they should, etc) or the help in their reluctance to walk properly (pain can be a huge factor and even people will develop weird patterns in their movements to avoid pain). I've seen a dog who lost so much of their mobility in their back legs that it looked like the poor pupper was paralyzed at their waist. After a month of treatment, the dog was using their back legs again, though still not as much as a normal dog would. Chiropractors aren't miracle workers, but they can fix CERTAIN issues non-invasively and with proper upkeep.

Chiropractic gave him the opportunity to run and play again. So it maybe doesnt work for everybody, but it works for some. Every situation/ injury is different. Question to the vet that posted this. As a biologist--not well-versed in medicine, mind you--it does make sense to me that this animal was definitely not paralyzed. However, I do know that spinal adjustments a la chiropractic care can help with something like a pinched nerve. Would something like this have possibly caused the back legs to not function properly in this doggy? Clearly "paralysis" is not the appropriate diagnostic term here, but I don't think the lack of diagnostic phrasing was necessarily intended to bamboozle this chiropractor's audience. I think the phrase "paralysis" was used in a more general sense here. What do you think?

Data analysis should be right up your alley, based on your name, huh? My statement is based on thirty-five years as a veterinarian who has seen results of both. It’s called “regression to the mean” and most credible chiropractic vs time studies show it. Seventy-five percent of dogs I see with IVDD heal with time and anti-inflammatory drugs. I have to refer relatively few for surgery and NONE-ZERO-of the patients whose owners chose acupuncture or chiropractic over my advice have recovered full function at that point. Apparently, I can’t post a link here (tried), but if you go to Skeptvet’s website and search “chiropractic,” you’ll have all the citations you need to see my proof.

He couldn't get the "pop" he wanted to out of my neck so he just kept on twisting. I woke up the next day blind!!!! Never again! Look, can we all just agree that some treatments are appropriate in some cases and not appropriate in others. Chiropractors have their place, and it's not in healing a problem, it's in relieving the problem. There is a big difference there. You can receive a pinched nerve or misaligned joint or over pressured joint. You have to heal an injury or illness. I swear a lot of doctors (human or animal, not the doctors but the patients) just get an attitude and arrogance issue when they get their license, and think that only THEIR way is the proper way. Blinding yourself to using only ONE type of care is just as bad as using the WRONG care.

There's two possibilities. Either the dog is just not using its back legs as much as it should for some reason (maybe pain or atrophy?) or it's partially paralyzed but not fully. To me it looks like the dog is having pain in its spine near its butt. There's a certain point where it just kind of... Lets its spine run half limp. To me that looks like it's just being stiff due to pain. That said it could also just suddenly be limp there because well.. like i said.. partial paralysis happens.

Yes it can. A slipped disc means displaced or partly out of alignment can press on nerves and cause pain or affect function. A herniated disc can happen to our spine from an accident or injury. Spinal manipulations can help shift the displaced disc back into alignment and relieve pressure on the nerves that’s causing pain or limit movements. Adjustments are not for everyone, that’s why we have to consider the injury, medical history leading to what happened to your dog and imaging verify the location and severity of the injury. As a medical provider I can tell you that much. Spinal manipulation is done not only by chiropractors but other healthcare providers as well such as physical therapists, nurse practitioners and DO after becoming certified in osteopathic manipulation therapy. Please do your own research and ask for multiple opinions in regard to your dog. Im so sorry about your dog :( hope she feels better.

There are legitimate good chiropractors out there For both animal and mammal You just really have to do your research. Sure certain bones and discs can be fixed with a simple and easy repositioning. But before that a good chiropractor will always look your x-rays first Because sometimes the disc that has slipped can either be very fragile or in such an awkward position that if it were to be forced back in place? Not only could there be considerable damage But sometimes irreversible damage that could cripple you. That would require multiple surgeries just to alleviate the pain And never truly fix what what was wrong with you in the first place.

Your video is misleading. He never said the dog was paralyzed and it took several sessions of adjustment.

Literally first sentence in the video says “back legs are paralyzed”

Kinda reminds me of swimmers puppy or whatever it's called (it's where their back legs grow funny so they don't like to use them), if your still looking for answers maybe look into that

Lol. The buffoonery is comical. He is actually trying to paralyze the dog

No he is not. The dog made a full recovery. The chiropractor continued to work with the dog until the dog was running. I already pointed that out in the comment section but i think he most likely deleted my comment. 🙃 The original video can be found on The Dodo KZitem channel, Just type chiropractor. 😊

Just cause you read some books it doesn't mean they were correct. Doctors all over got free samples of oxycotin and told their patients it wasn't addictive because that's what they read and were told. We all know what happened next.

Is he a Vet (or veterinary medicine trained) first of all? What was this dogs neuro exam before the ,,treatment"? This is a whole new level of malpractice. Thanks for highlighting this!

I’m 99% sure he is not a vet and no neuro exam was done by him.

He’s a chiropractor not an MD. we all have the same spines. and these guys do get special training in Chiropractic college. and, of course an exam was done before hand of the spine, especially neck and hips. if you need a blood workup, or they seem to a disease or swallowed a yogurt container, for pete’s sake, go to a vet. vets are fantastic!!!! MD’s and DC’s ought to work together. btw, do you know how many athletes see chiropractors - almost all of them. have a good day and stay safe :) 🌷🌿🌼🌱🌷
