Dog friendly STUDLAND BEACH via SANDBANKS FERRY - a day trip in our Autotrail motorhome to Studland Beach via the Sandbanks ferry in Dorset. We parked at the National Trust car park KNOLL BEACH and took the dogs along studland beach, past the Pig on the Beach Hotel and the Bankes Arms Pub to Old Harry Rocks. Great views over Studland Bay towards Poole and Bournemouth. There are three National Trust car parks in this area - Knoll Beach, Middle Beach and South Beach next to the Bankes Arms. All free if you are a member of the National Trust otherwise it would be £10 for the whole day in a Motorhome, there are special long bays for motorhomes but off peak we always park in the normal spaces as our motorhome is only 6.3m long. It costs £4.50 each way on the Sandbanks Ferry for cars and vehicles under 3500kg, which includes our motorhome. It was quiet on this day in December but can get very busy in the summer with over an hours wait, so you can drive round Poole harbour via Wareham which takes about 40mins. Definitely recommend for a dog friendly day out, with or without a van or if you fancy camping motorhomes and camper vans can very often be seen parking up on the road from the ferry towards Knoll Beach, although there are signs saying no camping (is it Policed ?). Campsites in the area include Burnbake just outside Studland, Camping and Caravan club site in Corfe Castle and Ulwell Cottage in Swanage. I will try and review these next year. Thanks v much, any questions please comment below
