I understand the dog's reaction. I once saw a lady's entire forehand getting sliced open because she tried to give a swan a piece of bread instead of throwing it in front of the bird. Swans are some of the meanest fucking birds in the world, and that includes roosters, geese, peacocks and ostriches. Roosters only attack if you piss them off, geese get violent when they get scared, peacocks like to flash their feathers to terrify three year olds who got lost in the zoo and ostriches are just plain weird, but swans pretty much hate anything that isn't a swan, including the people who feed them. Ever noticed that wherever there are swans, there are no geese or ducks or even pigeons? Geese and ducks mostly get along fine, but swans violently chase away any "inferior birds". If a swan came up to me, as pretty as they are, I'd punch it and run. They don't just peck you out of frustration. They try to rip pieces out of your skin. If I could give an advice about swans, it's to *always* stay at least ten feet away from them, in case they go nuts and try to remove your fingers or your eyes.

I think you would get the lowest possible score actually... swan and geese become bullies towards humans and pets because they become conditioned to having their way around humans (people let them have their way). You are supposed to be the top of the food chain. If you are afraid to face a bird (not even a prey bird, mind you) or do not know how to do it, you are a fine example of species regression (or whatever the opposite of evolution is). if you are an average size adult and you decided to lay on top of that swan it would die, plain and simple. If a medium sized dog decides that swan is breakfast, swan better get the hell out or it will become breakfast. The lady did exactly what she is supposed to do, stay firm where she is and not let the bird have its way. An important lesson both for the dog and the bird (this dog learned that there is no need to be aggressive nor fearful and for the swan, another dog might treat the swan as its breakfast so it is important for a swan to know that it is not in their best interests to mess with dogs)

If the bird would have followed through on those signals, she would have ended up with a traumatized dog. The swan doesn't want the dog there, maybe it's too close for comfort to it's nest. Forcing the dog into a stand-off with a swan is a really bad idea. These animals are both the subject of eachother's distress, the responsible thing to do is to calmly remove the one you're responsible for from the situation. Jordan Bickelmann To be fair, swans won't be that aggressive in this type of setting with so many humans around, especially since this likely isn't their territory. It's usually when they're patrolling the river that they're nesting in that they become extremely aggressive, not as much in a place that's so crowded. What likely triggered the Swan to attack here is the fact that it's a dog, rather than just wild aggression. It's a wolf-shaped animal, and dogs kill an insane amount of baby swans and geese.

Dog is clearly afraid of that monstrous animal, and has every right to be. Stupid lady thinks its just a little birb who wants to make friends 🤦♂️ Keeps on reassuring the poor dog who completely trusts his owner. Poor thing. She doesnt deserve him

The dog should trust her owner more. She knows the dog could (if it wanted too) kill the swan fairly easily, and shouldn't be afraid of it.

A week ago, a swan hissed at me and my dog when we walked along a path, the path in question was at least 10 metres away from the swan too. Bad tempered shits it was, but I'm just thankful that European Heron gulls don't get as big as swans, otherwise we'd be in serious shit.

The chonky lady has the right attitude, but she is neglecting her doge. She is supposed to stand her ground and be willing to either kick the goose, stomp it, or grab it by the neck and out-grapple it and throw it into the air. But her doge can't do anything because she has his neck afixed to a collar and leash. The doge knows this and is nervous, which empowers the swan.

I reported the video for animal abuse. Click on "report" in the *browser* , only then you can choose the option. Click on "violent content" or something and then select animal abuse. This is the text I sent in: "The woman forces her frightened dog towards a territoral swan resulting in a hit with the swan's powerful wings. This might seem mild at first, but swans are dangerous to dogs, some are even known to have killed them. The dog was lucky that it didn't get injured. This kind of negligent, dangerous behaviour displayed by the dog's owner should NOT be shown on KZitem, as it could serve as a role model to millions." Feel free to use the text or write a better version (I'm not sure if my reasoning is good here).

@@lgbtqiarights You don't always know what's animal abuse at first, but I've become more careful for sure. Unfortunately, I saw that KZitem still hasn't done anything against the video, despite me reporting it. I suppose it's because the dog was lucky enough to not get injured. It would've been a whole other story had the swan broken a leg of the dog. Which a swan can definitely do.
