I'm a 49 year old just getting to my art. Long road to it, but growing up I was told art wasn't a career and I shouldn't follow that dream. Well now it's my time. I wish I hadn't waited so long. I'm working on my art, slowly growing my youtube channel and TOTALLY loving following all you artist on youtube to help give me the push I need when I need it and to help me not feel so alone. Thanks for being you. Thanks for being here.....Oh and I'm a Libra as well. :)

Can I just say that I loved seeing Ed take out your window AC. Seeing the two of you continue to care for each other warms my soul. I've been an expatriat before and I know the struggles of that alone on top of normal life struggles and seeing the two of you despite all your trials, history, and heartaches, continue to have love for each other as friends, people, and comrades in an unfamiliar place (with unfamiliar life circumstances) makes me so deeply happy. ❤️

for some i was getting emotional watching this after a long and tiring day, just over the fact that i’m so thanful for your incredibly comforting company on days like this, and then you started crying over scarf and barf and I just loved it as a cat parent, and started cry-laughing with you

Just in case you weren't sure, scarf is a homonym. One meaning is the clothing your put around your neck (I put on a red scarf). The other meaning is to eat food very quickly (I was so hungry that I scarfed my meal down).

As someone who used to work in comics editorial, what you mentioned about the pitch is really important, especially the comparisons, and also mentioning what genres you are writing in. The pitch is primarily a marketing document, not an artistic document, and sometimes you could get picked up just bc they're looking for a particular kind of story

oh they definitely do smell different!! the library books smell of more books and dust and age and something I call a subtle note of melancholy, which is that faint layer of mold that you can smell in a loooot of old buildings, and second-hand books smell a bit like the home they used to live in.

It was really relaxing just listening to the background noise and reading the (really well timed!) commentary on the side and your rambling in between made it not get boring and "too quiet" :) Keep on doing what you're doing, I will definitly come back next time! :)

My fave book smell: Illustrated/photo books published in the 1980s. There was something in the ink quality of book printing/publishing in the 1980s that produced a very specific smell. I firts noticed it as a kid reading "Saint George and the Dragon" (retold by Magaret Hodges, illustrated by Trina Schart Hyman) which was published in 1988 (and won The Caldecott Award). Reading that book with that smell I was convinced it was the smell of Dragon's Breath. And while reprints have smelled similar, only illustrated/photo books from the 1980s smell exactly like Dragon's Breath.

Wishing you a lot of success and thank you for your tips about the applications ❤️

Regarding "scarf and barf" in cats: they make a "food lick mat" for both cats and dogs for this very reason. I have a cat one because one of my cats use to do this to the point of my being scared that it was due to a medical issue. Neurotic cats do this a lot. Anyway, they are textured so that wet food can be mashed into the crevices enough to slow down their eating pretty much eliminating the issue altogether. It's funny how something like this could help so much! It's one of the things my vet pointed out is truly one of the typical signs of either "scarfing and barfing" or their little insides slowly shutting down due to illness or old age.
