@@p4rk3r. no if they want us to stop “grouping them” then they have to stop grouping us. They are the ones who created racism. It is not there place to wear our hairstyles first of all because it’s not made for their hair it will damage it and it’s not their culture. Box braids have significant meaning in our culture. It’s not just for anyone to wear as a style and you should know that if you’re really black. If someone truly respects our culture and learns the history behind that and wants to wear it that’s a bit different. But either way we have a right to feel some type of way about it if we chose. We ain’t being racist y’all it’s just that your hair isn’t made for it. Box braids are a protective style for curly hair and usually straight hair isn’t strong enough or thick enough to go through the amount of stress the braids put on your scalp. 3:20 the hairstyle isn’t good for your hair type. Your hair type doesn’t need protective styling and if anything box braids are bad for it. Just a few tips too! - Soak your rubber band in oil so that they don’t break easily - Try using a gel/ edge control in your roots so that you can grip better - also maybe try Knottless box braids because you start off braiding with your natural hair and start adding extensions - also maybe try smaller sections for your braids, I’ve found with braids that smaller quantities of hair looks neater and is easier to grip and braid They’re really nice tho

I recommend to do the non- rubber band method and take a strand split it into three sections (still do the 80 /20% thing ) and braid with the added in hair . Hope this helped a little bit Also splitting the strand into three and braiding with the added in hair personally makes it tighter for me also this helps me get it done in 2-5 hours but I do it without weave

Can’t nobody say nun about her having braids , it’s like us getting mad if they try to speak Spanish . We all cross cultures , how we learn from each other . Maybe if people seen that they’re wouldn’t be so much violence and unnecessary commotion. You look cute with them 💕💕

@@amajikifactory1469 You respect a culture by learning about them, by teaching others about them and obviously, not getting racist ideas about them. Not just by not doing a hairstyle, that it’s dumb.

#1 rule never respond to the hate just shine on baby girl. Ppl should take it as a compliment and pass any tips or tricks over to you before they pass judgment. I grew up with all black friends and they always braided my hair and I was pretty much like their sister always at their house and I loved their family as if they were my own and they felt the same about me. I learned a lot about their culture and I adopted to my own life. That’s the beauty of life and the purpose of sharing our life experiences and culture with one another. And for Gods sake ppl need to get over the fact that this is a free world and if you get mad over something like this you probably need to check in with yourself and why it makes you so mad? Maybe someone hurt you in a way and you have to try and do it to the next person or maybe you were raised to think this certain way. Jazzy G you’re adorable your personality is lovely you will go far in life. Spread love and enjoy life.. life is too short 😝🥳

JAZZY G blessings to all in good energy. The law of attraction says that what you put out to the universe you will receive. The energy that you surround yourself with will also determine where you go in life. So let others surround themselves with their own energy don’t soak it in create your own energy and live in it and love in it and survive through Any adversity in this crazy wild life🙏

I love this people should feel obligated to do with or what to their hair. Its a choice within yourself not by others. People feel like they need to control other people's choices its really up to you it's not up to them...especially if you're an adult you make your own choices at the end of the day. Period 💯👏🏼💖💖🙌🏼

You gotta be careful with box braids. You should probably go for the bigger sized braids unless you’d like to bald... considering this hairstyle wasn’t made for your hair type. I mean as long as you’re educated and know what you’re getting yourself into, go ham.

This hair style really isn't protective for your hair texture cause when you brought it close to the camera it was to loose like really loose and you did nothing wrong other than the culture

Their comments are real weird and it bothers me I get that you’re appreciating the hairstyle and it’s culture but like if this was a white girl y’all would have a fit second if you know the history behind box braids you wouldn’t wear it out of respect because you don’t get treated the same way as a black women would it’s still culture appropriation

its nice but dont do it please..people will attack you for doing it + dont keep it for all that long because your natural hair will fall out
