I've been contemplating servicing my transmission when it gets to 50k miles, which is soon. But, it is under warranty until it gets to 60k miles. Should I wait until the warranty is up? The fluid is still clean looking and I'm hoping to keep my Wrangler with the NAG1 as long as I can. I think it is smarter to wait until the warranty expires now, but back when I ordered the ATF4, the filter and gasket, I was thinking more of the service interval. Thanks, I've enjoyed these past few videos.

@Online Mechanic Tips thanks for the great videos My question is, is it ok to use a Infrared Thermometer on the transmission pan to check the temperature of the fluid on my dodge caliber cvt transmission after taking it for a good run i want to check the level of the fluid thanks again keep the videos coming much love.

I wish I would have seen this video a lot time ago. My transmission is having issues. I think the code was P0735 gear 5. I’m taking it in Tuesday…I hope it’s not going to cost me over $1000 but we’ll see :/

@@famebreaker they just reset the transmission code or something to factory setting. Cost me $165. But it feels a bit different like whenever I press the gas it just feels different can’t describe but no check engine light has came on. Essentially the dealer told me that they didn’t want to tear it down and see further if they didn’t need to because it would cost me more. They said if something else happens to bring it in and they’ll do more then so idk. Hopefully nothing else happens

Have you ever adjusted a kickdown cable on a chevy cavalier? My transmission has a bit of a kick shifting to second gear but shifts good into 3rd. Its also a bit sluggish too, i noticed that a cable located near the throttle body connected to the transmission is loose. I did some research and found that the cable is called a kickdown cable. I read about this and learned it can cause some transmission issues. problems.

I need some help badly. I was driving my 2009 jku and all sudden heard a noise almost like a ran over something. So I pull over don't see any issues in front go to reverse it won't move just makes noises .. so go into drive and it'll go but will quit and do same thing reverse did. And I got this code P0732
@OnlineMechanicTips
3 жыл бұрын
Hey bud, P0732 is a ratio error code in 2nd gear. 2 things can cause this, extremely low on trans fluid or you have internal damage that can only be found by going into the trans. First thing first, check the fluid level, you may have a leak. O thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel, thanks

@@OnlineMechanicTips darn it's definitely good on transfluid. I've never done any jeep transmissions just prior cars.. is it do able just being on 4 wheel ramps . You made it seem easy but you have experience and right tools. I did find a used transmission for 600 that looks clean though .. so is there anyway it could be bad fluid and or maybe clogged or is that beyond that issue sorry about question just seen your good at it so any insight would help since it's first time and on garage floor

@@Sh4dovv Yes bud, the easiest thing you can do/try is a trans service. Meaning change the fluid and the filter. At least you will also be able to get a good look inside the pan. Now depending on what you find inside the pan will likely determined if something broken. If you see aluminum shavings or snap ring pieces in the pan then you will have to worry. Have you subscribe to the channel yet?

Owners manuals need to stop calling it lifetime fluid, and saying it doesn't need to be changed. The average consumer doesn't know the intricacies od transmission maintenance. They go soley off what they see and hear. It doesn't help when the manufacturer doesn't even recommend specific service related to the transmission.

Do Scions/ Toyotas have frequent transmission problems? I bought my used Scion xB without any record for transmission maintenance. It has 162,000 miles. Mechanics/you tube told me not to flush or change the transmission fluid & filter since it could cause mine to slip, but I only to add fresh transmission fluid if it gets low, which is also termed as ' topping it' what is your advice? should I still service my transmission or just top the ATF when it needs it?

I have the same truck 2016 wrangler with the 3.6. When i first turn it on in the morning and put it in reverse, the rpm's drop and sometimes its starting to stall out. I have to put it in drive first, neutral, and then reverse. After that it doesnt stall out, it shifts well on the road, no engine light, and doesnt stall out on red lights and it only has 50,000 miles. What do you suspect the problem might be? Valve body? What milage am i suppose to service the trans?
