Thank you for sharing this. I had been going back and forth and just could not justify spending that kind of money and hope that the company/person I buy from would do a great job for a $67 wood shelf- for one shelf! I need like a gazillion of them. Now I know what I am doing over the next few weekends. I can do this!! Thank you so much!!

Our extended pantry has these and they are a pain to stack things....always tipping over, falling down, what a mess! Just the other day I mentioned to hubs that there's got to be something easy/cheap to remedy this. He suggested plain ole cardboard. Fine I'm not after looks, no one needs to be in my pantry. But I do like things to be aesthetically pleasing. Foam core to the rescue. Thanks so much for this. Yours looks awesome!!

@@Dearingermeister Good idea!! We were renting our house for less than a year, so I didn't want to invest the time and effort into wood shelving for a rental, but if you were staying in your home for a while this is probably a better option. 😃

Great idea! For it to be long lasting, I might use polyethylene sheet or other materials instead of foam board. I wouldn’t recommend using actual wood panels like other wire shelf hack videos, cuz most wire shelves only got 1 screw into a stud, or none at all but just drywall screws, whose weight capacity is not intended for anything heavy.

I have those wire shelves in all my closets. I’ve been looking for a solution to cover them. Because I use the front piece for my hangers, I’m just going to cover foam board to fit the top of the shelves.

Do you think it'd be possible to score the foam board and fold it instead of cutting all the way through and having to tape together? I'm so grateful for this hack! Can't wait to try it!

That's a good idea! You could definitely try that! 🤗 I think You would still want to tape it, so it's sturdy underneath the contact paper but great idea!

How do you keep the foam from pulling out if trying to pull out towels, etc?
@MarissaExplains
Жыл бұрын
Hi Beth! I haven't had this issue so far - I cut them pretty close to the size of the shelf so they stick in place. But if you wanted, you could put some double sided tape or foam tape on the underside, to adhere them to the shelves. :) Thanks for watching!

What a disaster. This is a lie. I have PTSD now…contact paper, wrapping paper, wax paper, parchment paper. I will say though that connecting the 2 pieces with hot glue works WAYYYY better than tape. I have PTSD now for that also.
