Would you say from your research, most domestic abusers are personality disordered? Like ASPD, NPD or BPD?

From clinical experience it appears as though most mental health disorders (personality disorders, substance misuse, depression etc) are over represented in people involved with the criminal justice system and this is backed up by evidence/research. Haven’t looked at the latest evidence on personality disorders in domestic abuse perpetrators; however from clinical experience I would say personality disorders seem to be more common in this group compared to the general population (whether that is diagnosed or undiagnosed), usually BPD, ASPD and NPD as you mention.

@@krisha58Thank you for your answer. It makes sense. My own research I have found that the traits of abusers are very similar to that of those Cluster B disorders. All abusers would score high on a personality test, so they would show up having high personality disorder traits especially BPD, NPD and ASPD.

@@krisha58 It would be great if you did a video on the causes and talk about personality disorders in one video.
