just a bit of trivia: Monte-carlo masters aren't in monte-carlo, or even Monaco - its located in France.

Hi, we are a group of tennis fans that record court level videos of matches and practice sessions. We have seen your great videos of Monte_Carlo and we would like to know if we could use them in our channel with an intro text that says it's from your account and a link to it. Thanks in advance

it appears to me that his topspin backhand stroke is using a LOT of arm vs wrist/kinetic chain; just my two cents

His swings look hard on the shoulder and elbow. With the numbers of tournament/games he's been playing these last two or three seasons, I wonder how long he will keep that fitness.

Nice footwork- always making those crucial small adjustment steps.... But yea, his stokes seem a little exaggerated- like he feels the need to extra work for himself just to remember how to exactly hit the ball- kinda odd...

too much back swing, federer was like that too during 1999.

Partly true. Federer had the same backswing, but quite some spin less. Thiem can perfectly hit a straight fore And hackhand from the wrist.

his forehand is kinda weak to be honest.

He is hitting from a neutral position and even falling back on his shots. Doing that robs you of free power. Now I could coach him and tell him to move forward with improved foot work but my mother does not allow me to leave the basement.

ha! ha! no worries; i'm sure Thiem will listen to you if you post something on his Twitter account! ;-)

Fun fact, his forehand average speed per whole season (2016) was one of the highest on tour.

interesting. in match play, most of his don't actually look that hard compared to some players. then sometimes he randomly unleahses it though, from what i remember.

I heard it while they were talking on SkySports during the World Tour Finals last year. I don't remember the figure exactly, just some analysis. He does play with some heavy topspin, though.
