Cook with Me today as I make a Dominican Style Asopao de Camarones which is a Shrimp and Rice Soup! This is essentially a Dominican version of Shrimp Jambalaya, which is easy and quick to make! I’m even using some homemade sofrito to make a fantastic dinner date dish for my husband since his birthday is right around the corner! I really hope that you like this cooking vlog! Ingredients:
1 White Onion
¼ cup Sofrito
3 Ajicitios
5 Garlic Cloves
2 ½ tbs Sopita/Chicken Bouillon Cube
½ tsp DR Oregano
Black Pepper to Taste
1 tbs Sazón con Achiote
3 tbsp Tomato Paste
¼ cup Cilantro
1 Large Carrot Diced
¼ cup Peas
¼ Auyama/Kabocha Squash *optional
1 cup White Rice
8 cups Hot Shrimp Stock or Boiling Water
1 ½ lbs Raw Large Shrimp
Shrimp Shells for Shrimp Stock
Olive Oil
Shrimp Seasoning:
1 ½ lbs Shrimp
1 tsp Kosher Salt
Black Pepper to Taste
1 Orange
½ Lime
