Sounds like Nino may have looked at Dom as an asset he owned and did not want to advance out from under him and outshine him? But maybe Nino knew all along Dom was a renegade and did not want the punishment for proposing him to be made while he's breaking all the rules.

"Every once in a while there was a, a killing." Dom is a charming, gregarious personality. That quality is irrefutable. His avuncularity, however, is effective camouflage for an unconscionable cold-blooded predator alter ego. As more and more of these relatively short videos are released, the portrait of Dom as an extremely complex figure emerges.
@kylez3354

Excellent observation. Dom betrays himself the drunker he gets. He always claims he had no choice and was forced into the life, but look deeper and you can see how passionate he was for the life; how badly he wanted to be made; and how jealous he was of Roy. His "Hole in the Wall" stories really come across as fantasies where he is bigger, badder and more successful than Roy. It's somewhat cringe to listen to Dom brag about his millions and his professional crew while in these living conditions and with no teeth. Dom wasn't nearly as convincing as he thought he was. The drunker he gets the sillier the pretense becomes. "Ma-fia means 'my daughter!'" " I knew John Gotti - not a sicilian." The latter is a line right out of HBO's Gotti. Sometimes he just goes a little too far on the hard stuff. I love Dom though! Just pointing out he is a complicated man .

I've heard this story before from Dominic about Matty many times and I don't believe it. To be quite honest for that a little bit amount of money of not paying 1750 a week, saying that he paid $30000 for all that is not true, there's more to the story I don't believe it that's not a lot of money. They're all making a lot of money so I don't knor no.
