This is the scene that negates 30 years of anti-smoking campaigns.

Ice Breaker there must be some kind of inside joke having the characters work mostly for cigarette brands (at least at first) while also being the series itself a great look for smokers

In one episode, Don attends an aviation conference in California, notes that he's forgotten his sunglasses and, the next time you see him wearing some, it's this model by Randolph Engineering who supply military-standard aviators - the implication being that he picked them up them at the conference. I love the fact that even Don's sunglasses have an implied backstory. The attention to detail in this show is amazing.

Why was the smell of corn such an impossibility for Don at that moment? Perhaps it's what he's been smelling all this time, the smell he just couldn't face. The smell, that smelly smell, that smells... smelly.

Mad Men is practically the opposite of Game of Thrones. In the Game of thrones, people wait for the winter and it's still not there, but they keep repeating it. In the Mad Men they say "Summer's coming." and they mean it. anywhore - I love both shows ;)

The Sunglasses Don wears is similar to the Ones that Ron Moss wore when he played Ridge Forrester #1 on The Bold & The Beautiful. @Claurice Yeah, for nearly two years, I've been sporting a conservative '60s haircut too. It's long on the top, but faded short in the sides and back, a lot like the cut Don Draper (and '60s James Bond) has. Mad Men's one of my favorite shows! For the record, I'm 22 years old.

Even better he should have said he swears he smells fresh tomato plant leaves. But you would need to have a straight guy writer like me to even understand that one. And the actor that played Don and the writers and directors and costume folks created a masterpiece in Don Draper and fulfilled what Cary Grant had started.

@Zachey2001 i agree TOTALLY.....makes me want a cigarette real bad. Nothing like watching anything to do with pre-1970 America and all the smoking. I grew up with cigarette commercials....I was born in 1954. From the time they could prop me up in front of a TV eating baby food I was watching cigarette commercials. I knew all the jingles, I knew the commercerals by heart, I used to roll up paper and make fake cigarettes.....I could not wait to start smoking. Those ads really were effective

"The return of man" does not imply moral "perfection", it indicates a longing for a time when lack of testicles was a tale to scare children, unlike the sought-after dysfunction it is today.
