My YT postings are primarily aimed at Old-time styles but a few students have asked me to post a few 3 finger bluegrass tunes every once in awhile. So, I had this one from a few years back. I’m playing an original Gibson PB, serial number 9559-30 (plectrum banjo) converted to a five string neck and having a Steve Huber HR 30 flathead tone ring installed. Odd that it was Gibsons low end example but was gold plated from the factory! Bought from original owner in original case. It is suspected that resellers would contract with Gibson to have a batch of low end banjos gold plated- gussied up, to better appeal to potential buyers. The binding on the original plectrum neck is also odd, not your typical style one treatment. ( I’ll post a picture of it soon)
