I have a 2011 Lexus ES. If you're buying a used car, often the Lexus is a better deal. Here's why: The Toyota logo ALWAYS holds its value. There is a lot of demand in the camry market thus prices are generally high. If you want an avalon- the premium model- you're going to have to shell out for it. There are also less avalons in production making them more expensive. The Lexus ES has the same premium features as an Avalon, but because that's their standard production sedan it's not as "rare" of a find. Also luxury car buyers don't gravitate toward used vehicles so there's less demand there. Price shop a used avalon versus a used ES350. You might find that lexus is the better deal.
@Holistic_Islam

The perfect answer. I was looking for a used Avalon, however for the same price I could get a Lexus ES300h. It’s a wonderful car!
@geo5146
7 ай бұрын
I found what you’re saying to be exactly true. Same year Avalon versus Lexus ES, the Lexus’ were actually cheaper. There are so many MORE ES’s than Avalons. I always thought people just don’t sell their Avalons and that’s probably part of it too But as you said, there just aren’t as many Avalons around as ES’s. The ES has consistently been the most popular car from Lexus, probably the only Lexus that sells as much as the ES is the IS.

This doesn't even include the fact that a Lexus has sound proofing, better suspension, and a much better/louder sound system. Now tell me if the affordable Camry from 2008 has this stuff. People talking smack about Lexus have probably never sat foot in one. It's a Camry's engine, yeah, which is a great thing. It's a luxurious Toyota. That's what you pay for. Sorry, Scotty. I love your videos, but you've gone blind if you think you can compare these three cars just because of the drive train. First, the Camry doesn't come with a V6 for $20k, and never has! As for the Avalon, I too once thought they were mostly the same; until I actually drove the Lexus. The Avalon is ugly outside, the Lexus is beatiful. As for the interior, the Avalon while still nice, feels like a mickey mouse car compared to the Lexus ES350. Drive both of them; and you can't tell the difference, you've gone blind in your old age, sorry.

Lexus drives completely different to toyota , I've had the exact same lexus es300 as yours even same colour and I bought another camry of the same age and the camry drove really bad and bumpy , both were clean condition cars almost new , the lexus drives like youre on a cloud

@Vance Wankel completely different from the soft leather interior to the “real wood trim” and I have a 2010 ES 350 with the six speed automatic and it shifts so smooth, and drives like butter, you are so isolated from the outside.

@Vance Wankel it’s really sad how ignorant people are and think because you drive a Lexus you are stuck up or pretentious and that is not the case at the end of the day I always tell people it’s just a damn Lexus! I’m not driving around in a $5 million Bugatti so stop comparing Lexus, because it is the luxury division of Toyota which is why it cost more because you get more luxury features than you would in a fully loaded Toyota the ignorance is just so disgusting with people it really is at the end of the day it’s just a vehicle and I drive it because I like a smooth quiet ride and I love lots of wood and I love the wood and leather steering wheel and I’ve just always been a fan of Lexus so sue me! Lol!
@ROMANEMPIRE69

Lol! I have a v6 Camry, never been in an Avalon, had a gs300. The quality comparison is night and day. However with Toyota in general you get built quality. Lexus is a step up and way more luxurious. One feature I miss the most is the power folding mirrors.

Camry is pretty much plain and cheap. Avalons are premium and quiet (with the right years). Lexus gets you premium quality. Thicker/double pane glass, good materials on the interior. A lot more soundproofing. Im in a newer avalon and miss my old one. It was a lot quieter. Want to uograde to the Lexus next time. The radio in this avalon sounds like garbage.

Id venture to say the Avalon has similar sound dampening vs the Lexus. But a camry? Oh hell no! When people say “a Lexus ES is a Camry”…… yeah the engine and transmission, unibody. But the engine mounts are different on the ES, and sound deadening is light years better in a Lexus vs a Camry. Not really apples to apples comparison

I was lucky enough to buy a 99 ES300 Coach Edition for $1500 because the owner didn’t know why it was stalling and misfiring. I replaced the 02 sensors and now that 3.0 V6 purrs like a kitten. I test drove all kinds of Camrys but they were all $2000 or more and did not have the same quality of feel. The suspension, handling, acceleration, sound system, accessories, and just overall styling of the Lexus makes it a lot more fun and attractive to drive. I love camrys but I test drove quite a few of those and I only had to drive one Lexus before I bought it lol. Even when it was running like crap I was like “this thing is just too cool to pass up” I probably wouldn’t have looked into Lexus if it wasn’t for you Scotty, so thank you!
