I agree. There are some situations where I point people elsewhere, but ever since they upgraded their warranty to 10 years from an authorized dealer it becomes a proposition that is increasingly difficult to ignore. Thanks for watching, as always!

I picked up a miele compact c2 electro and it's the best vac I've ever owned. Its better than my c1 classic and my u1 cat and dog. The bags fill up with cat hair so quick....but thats a good thing. Gives me a reason to visit my vac shop always fun. Thank you for all the videos I'm learning alot. Take care and keep vacuuming.

Thanks for watching, I'm glad you are enjoying the videos! The C2 Electro is one of my favorite modern Miele designs. For the same price as the Classic C1 it presented a much more compelling proposition. That may be why the cancelled the line, ha! Cheers!

Very good video Matt. What I and I am sure your many viewers appreciate, is the fact that you offer reasons behind your decisions concerning the design of the vacuum. If you like or dislike something you offer an explanation as to the why, not just accept what I say because I say so. Again, I have learned so much watching your videos. I find them extremely interesting the way you present them. Thanks again for another great video. Looking forward to the power nozzle video. John in Ohio

Nice video for sure! In early days of my Blue Moon, Miele had real trouble with their fiber bags getting punctured and leaking dust from sucked-in debris. They tried putting plastic shields inside bottom of bags, diffuser strips and several other variations. A vacuum forum I helped moderate was vivid about the problem as it clogged the HEPA / other filters. Finally Miele got to their current Air Clean design, which in my Mieles show no tendency towards puncture or leakage.

Shockingly, you can still buy those problematic HiClean Miele bags from placed like Amazon and Ebay. That is usually what the "cheap" bag listings are...

What are your thoughts on the Riccar Canister Vacuum? It has both the HEPA and charcoal filtration. Is it as good or better than the Miele or Sebo Canister Vacuums? I can’t decide and it’s driving me crazy. Great video and thanks for all your wisdom.

You know you could add some silicone gasket maker to the cord inlet, and motor housing upper/lower to be a little more comfortable with the seal it creates...your talking pennies to upgrade a machine you're already into.
@HouseOfVacuums
2 жыл бұрын
You could. I personally wouldn't do that on a customer's machine because I don't modify from factory designs (liability) and serviceability later on. But it would indeed be possible.
@falzon03

@@HouseOfVacuums I fully understand actual modifications but this would simply be adding a gasket to an already "sealed" area. Not putting a hole or upgrading a motor ect.

I think Miele fixed this hepa sealed problem with the c1 classic in a model revision because for some reason performance reviews says the the c1 classic is fully hepa sealed. I have a new c1 turbo and it is actually fully hepa sealed now.

Great video! It's very important to use genuine bags and filters with high end vacuums. What's your opinion on the C2 electro plus? That retails around $700. I do think the miele c3 and SEBO e3 are worth it over this.
@HouseOfVacuums

Thanks for watching and commenting! The C2 Electro is a great machine and one of my favorite Miele designs. They did discontinue manufacturing it midway through last year, so you would need to find one that is still in stock someplace, but if you can find one I highly recommend it! Definitely a cut above the build of the C1 Classic.

This is not a bag issue, it's a design flaw with the bag seal around the hose. Don't blame the the bags when clearly you did not examine the problem and diagnose the issue with a bad seal.
@HouseOfVacuums
2 жыл бұрын
Ah, but it in this case it was indeed the bag. The bag was lined up properly when I took off the hose to inspect, so it was either a fault with the sizing of the seal on the bag (captive to the bag), or as I demonstrated, unacceptable flexing of the bag collar. That is all too common with cheap bags. I know what you are talking about. When you open the bag door and close it again without reseating the bag it won't properly align and will cause bypass. However, that wasn't the issue in this case. I'm chalking it up to collar flex and a weak seal, both of which are hallmarks of replacement bags.

Very true, I have had several situations with three C-3 models ( not cheap), where the Genuine Miele bags exploded or leaked dirt.. I took the machines outside and blasted them with a leaf blower, wiped them out with a damp cloth and replaced the filters and bag. I am sure I have done that 5-6 times..
