Exactly right. Not only that but some (most?) financial advisors get paid a percentage of the assets under their management, so if money departs your accounts and goes into physical gold, two things happen: 1) their income is reduced; and 2) money that comes out of an account to buy physical gold rarely ever returns to their control. I'm not sure whether or not being a fiduciary changes any of this but if it doesn't, it should.

Good points. I have been an investor for 45 years now and my observation on this is that professional money managers despise gold because: 1) when money leaves their management, their income falls; and 2) money that leaves them for gold rarely ever returns, also lowering their income. While this sounds like the same thing, it's really more of a long-term vs. short-term look at how to best manage one's money. In the same vein, pros also hate it when their clients stack cash, raving on and on about how money should be "working". There IS a place for both activities in most portfolios. In a falling market, it helps investors to have a pot of money that is not falling along with the rest of the market. There is a cost to it in a rising market but that is the cost of having a cash reserve. Like many other things, this is not a binary yes or no question or answer. I tend to keep about 20% of my net worth in cash and cash equivalents. I have used this cash for two primary purposes: 1) to scoop up bargains when others are bailing out of stocks or PMs; and 2) to use for living expenses so I don't have to sell any shares during a market decline. If the pros don't like this, well, too bad. I find it a very useful money management tool and don't need or want their approval.

Greetings from Turkey! Your channel has sparked my passion for gold and silver. Well, here we stake grams of gold. I keep buying 24-carat gold bars, usually around 5 grams, nearly every month. Over time, I end up accumulating too many grams, so I swap them for larger bars. However, silver isn't as sought after or appreciated here; they only sell kilos at the jewelry stores. I was considering ordering 500 grams of silver for the first time before my salary is wired, but silver prices have shot up again, lol. Happy staking with gold and silver!

Suze has great advice to help people get out of debt and offers great tools and planning to assist most people to do better financially. I agree with you on the so called financial investment advice of these individuals. They either don't understand what is coming in the monetary system and overleveraged portfolios of the markets, or they are just going to keep making profits steering people down the wrong road for the times we are rapidly moving towards. I think hard physical assets will be way safer and still profitable until the high debt gets boiled off this system.

What does “paper form” mean? You only consider buying stocks in paper-related industries?
@BB-gb2eq
4 ай бұрын
@@sinesaii When you purchase a commodity in the paper markets it would be similar to an IOU. The financial entity holding that IOU/paper contract does no have to hold but just a percentage of the real deal commodity that is owed to you. It is on paper like a promise to you. If the price of that commodity rises the financial entity will have to purchase that commodity while it rises in price which could lose money. These third party entities have done this time and time again over and over, and I believe that to be risky for the investor. If you would like to see an example. Do a google search on the US Debtclock, go down to the bottom right of the screen and open the precious metals tab, look for the silver paper contracts and it will show you silver paper contracts to physical silver these institutions hold. That means of you were to put 1 physical ounce of silver on the table, then compare it to how many paper ounces of silver are the ratio to that 1 physical ounce. The best example I can give is if you used that ratio playing musical chairs, there will be one winner that gets the chair and the rest will lose their seat/physical silver. Hope this helps

@@Youmissedme-i5z As gold rises in price, the cost of the extra premium diminishes. I don't even know how much I paid in premium for the sub-$1200 gold that was my 1st buy. I can look it up, as I do keep records in a spreadsheet but off the top of my head, it's not a number I worry about. Also seems as if that is a deductible cost of owning gold, as are the costs of shipping and insurance, if any. Also, it's good to have the increased flexibility of fractional oz. gold when selling it. I retired before I started stacking. In 2008, I'd been retired for nearly 4 years and plan to use my gold at some point to supplement my retirement income, make sure I can pay my property taxes, and handle other major expenses, such as uninsured medical costs. If at that time, we are suffering from serious inflation, I want to only sell as much gold as I need to cover my expenses and no more than that. This will leave more of my wealth in gold where it is more protected from inflation than if I had extra cash laying around and losing much of it to inflation. IMO, the 1/4 and 1/2 oz. gold coins are in the sweet spot where price is affordable and costs are moderate. Yes, buying a full oz. of gold at a time does cost less but I don't have an issue with some additional cost as long as some additional benefit also occurs. Imagine trying to sell a 1 oz. gold coin at a time when gold is really high... say between $10k and $20k per oz. Very wealthy people can swing that but many others cannot. This really limits the number of the buying public that can buy such a coin. But a 1/2 oz. or 1.4 oz. coin would be more affordable to more people.

One thing that has definitely caught me off guard when it comes to gold is that the margins do change based on availability, popularity, and supply/demand. It’s great to buy when you’re getting a good deal on something because you never know if paying a higher premium will get you that premium back in whatever the market looks like in the future. It’s also true that you don’t just want a completely random assortment of coins and bars. Some consistency is nice when selling multiple pieces of gold

Sticking to what has been working. When it comes to gold I can't go big so sticking to my plan is all I can do.

Having a plan is the 1st step in this process. Glad to hear that you have a plan and that you are sticking to it. Both are important to our financial success.

Anything the news media has to say about "do not buy" and "physical gold" in the same sentence, I'm just gonna stick to my shiny coins and stay happy.

I like Gold because it doesn't take up much space.

I also love pre-33 gold. Saints, Libs, etc. But I don’t ever hear you talk about Mexican gold. Can often find very close to spot, and buy back is usually no worse than 2% back.

I really agree with your view on Gold as savings. I think that resonates with me the most.

I was saying right along with you....nothing changes! I won't listen Suze talk about gold, just like I don't listen to what celebrities have to say about what is right or what to do or who to vote for, etc.!

I still prefer pre33! GOLD….But I’ll bite on anything at spot my favorite dealer offers me, but getting those deals is becoming harder and harder.

I love how your mind processes the gold market. Your coin vs. bar was spot on. Good gold.

Great stuff! Pre-33 GOLD is for me! I can't stop buying St. Gaudens double eagles...wish they had fractional ones LOL!

I've been buying Gold for the last 4 years, steady and periodically getting 1/4 oz when I can put forth the extra cash. Mainly fractional, but have a few full 1 ounces, even with the fractional I looked for low premium Gold and can say I'm pleasantly surprised. Slow and steady wins the race!! BTW, I don't really like bars either, but recently offloaded some bars when I bought the dip years ago and getting some Pre-33 Gold.

That is a beautiful Liberty GOLD coin you have there. It was a pleasure to see it make a cameo in today’s video.

Interesting information on why we’re seeing more Pre 33 GOLD. Time to add some to the stack!!

My feelings on this is that one should stock up on gold fractionals if they believe that stuff would hit the fan, and if you are saving gold for the long haul, then 1oz coins are the way to go.

Your gold videos are always entertaining and informative. Probably the most sane precious metals channel on YT. Thanks so much.

I'm still stacking maplegram's and 1/10 (whatever is on sale).. And buying my 10 ozt worth of silver coins... but one silver price gets above 30 on my switch over to just buying straight gold... But I'm also keeping up with my small collection of series silver coins like Kookaburras, libertads, ect... And just finished my keys dates (king queen switch over on brits, Maples, roo's,... But also finished my ASE key dates) Anyways, thanks for the video as always man and take care 😎✌️

Agreed and if those in charge of this world finally do have a massive screw-up, which seems more and more likely all the time, those who don't hold any gold are in for a very severe financial shock. In fact, it likely would be THE shock of their lives. Those of us who invest in multiple asset classes will probably do pretty well. I use my gold and silver as a hedge against the paper investments I have. Paper is for growth and PMs are for preservation. It's useful to approach our financial future from BOTH directions. Extra profits from paper investments are used to buy more gold. It's great to have paper assets that grow our wealth but it's also great to have a backstop in PMs. No one knows the future, so hedging our bets seems an appropriate response to all the craziness in this world of ours.

Buying Gold on a regular habit is always the goal but I will add that with the gains since the first if the year my buy has slowed dramatically
