They had a sale at Walmart on RCA projectors. Thirty dollars each!! Got 3 of them, and am using one for movies, one for a driving simulator, and one for an arcade made from one of those little "streaming boxes" a Pendoo T-95. It's got a quad core 2.0GHz processor and a 700MHz Mali GPU and 4GB of RAM. Runs Android 11. They can be found for 35 bucks or so on eBay and are fantastic for MAME and other emulators. Add a spare Arcade Tankstick and a handmade pedestal for the Tankstick and I got a projector gaming unit for about 100 bucks and some change. More for a driving wheel, but great overall for classics. Cool video, great way to use the Atgames platform! Not a fan of Atgames any more after they stiffed me for my ALP Micro pinball. (Had to finally go offline and lock it out of the net to not lose coinopX. They removed it after firmware 5.71.

It’s a really nice projector. I know the one I bought for the project had a battery built into it so that whole unit could be completely ire which is what sold me on the one that I bought. I didn’t know that they removed X from the devices. I thought they only removed it from the store that is not the best look for games for sure, but I was a sucker and bought the 4K earlier in the year so I guess I’m still in their wild garden lol

I used it quite a lot at the end of August and most of September since we have had nice weather. I’ll probably have it in the Steam Controller mode as we go into the rainy season in Seattle. It’s really versatile and that’s what I like about it.

Great vid! Im planning to do this. Question- Can you send the audio out to a better device?
@FactorofGames
Жыл бұрын
Yeah, that’s how I record the audio is through an external microphone. You could use Bluetooth to send the audio to a speaker or earbuds.

A local store is selling the Arcade 1up projector unit for $285. Would you buy it at this price or still build your own?

Nice, now that it can be bought for $199, do you think your setup is still the way to go, or can this base unit be upgraded for less to make it better?

Did you have to map the buttons for mortal kombat?
@FactorofGames

Once you have mapped the controller in Steam, you don’t need to do game specific configuration unless you want a custom key placement.

@FactorofGames

No, the control deck doesn’t work with Consoles, only PC or the Atgames Core.
