I'm 64 years old, have cut my whole life, live in a town that once had 5 mills and many hundreds of fallers in the area, subscribe to every trade magazine known to man, still study the art and science of cutting as well as everything related to it and... I have never seen a Bell (K6) grinder like that. I have a K6A (totally different from yours) that I bought new in I believe 1981 and used to have a Nielsen (don't remember the model) and still grind on my SDM4. Thought I'd seen everything, but apparently not. Kind of surprises me that the only chisel chain grinder available for the individual today is the Simington swing arm. Had one of those too but not nearly as accurate as the competition back when I had it. Gave it to an employee. Even at that price (free), he didn't much care for it. And on the topic of cutting in the wind, we finished a job on Tuesday at 11:00 that was over 7000' elevation on the crest of the Sierra with a storm coming in. Windiest day I've ever cut but at least consistent from the Southwest. Smashed 3 056's on one windy day back in the 80's. Ran out of saws and "had to go home". LOL A saw was $500 to $600 back then but I cut scale on contract and made more money than today. Love your products too. Your 500i clutch cover is a dream come true. Wish you made a foam air filter with rain cover that didn't leak around it's attachment fastener. Also, (just a thought) how about a kit to convert the M-tronic 661's to an adjustable carb. I have both saws and the M-tronics just sit in the shop. NOTHING has made them run right. Thanks for everything!

Yes you are right on the Bell they were very accurate and fast and built extremely well Grinder I am kinda goofy when it comes to grinders I love them and the way they work so I hunt high and low to find these sorts of things I think “from what I have been told” the K-6 was Engineered by Neilson and patented and somehow silvey got the patent from Nielsen Then Neilson sold out to Bell who tryed to make the K-6 and then Silvey sued then for patent infringement on the K-6 So I could be wrong but I thing the K6a was Bells attempt at going around the patent roadblock but it failed and they went out of Business The K-6 was not made for very long as far as I know “this is what I was told” The M-tronic saws have come a really long ways in the last few years Especially the 661 I would look into new carb solenoid
