Ouu, that's a great question and one I've had for months!
@rezzy8590

So, The Nail Hub reccomends Reverse or Left for left-handed people and Foward or Right for right-handed people. She mentions that if you're using the wrong setting, the bit will just roll across your nail (if you're filing from sidewall to sidewall). It's because the bit is rotating with your motion from right to left or from left to right. You want the bit to "bite" on the product you're trying to pull off so you need some friction to achieve that. Otherwise, I'd assume that you're using far too much pressure to perform the same amount of work, which could be dangerous. She also mentions something really helpful about switching e-file "directions" for doing your other hand and how switching these directions without shutting the motor off in between could be causing damage to the motor. The Nail Hub has amazing videos on e-files and the basics of using them. I highly, highly recommend them! Sorry for the long reply and I hope the info helped! Good luck, stay safe and have fun!

@@CodingIOT ahh, yes, this is true! Even tho I said I've had this question for months, lately I have been feeling it out and I can tell the difference. That doesn't help to KNOW which setting to select before going in but ig that's up to me to learn and memorize by doing, feeling, and learning. Eventually it will be second nature, like with anything you do enough 🙂

That’s OK whenever we’re learning something new, it can scare us and make us feel uncomfortable. But that feeling of uncomfortable is the first sign that you’re doing something new., If you are right, handed turn the e-file to the right side of the button, if you are left-handed, you want to push it to the left hand side

There’s a few different ways to ‘finish’ 1. Finish for NAIL Polish application Finished with arbour band to create an even nest throughout the nail, then finish with finishing hand files, to create a very smooth and shiny surface to touch for nail polish application to be at its best 2. Finished for GEL application, finish with arbour band, create smooth even surface, but also can be left with the arbour band finish so that the gel polish will absorb and stick to the product for a long time where But in either case, I’m always finishing with an arbour band before I gel polish, or before I finish with hand files for nail polish

Slow it down and practice the moves of going side to side in a very curved motion. Practice is at a lower speed and just increase your speed as you become more confident with the move. As you develop more control, doing this with the muscles in your head, it will be the move that will make your nail work smoother and much more faster in efficient.

So start with a fine bit on your mandrel. Tournier e-file down very low 12 or three. Practice this motion but goes slowly. Take your time and really feel the shape of that natural nail going back-and-forth. Practice is over and over until you can make contact with your e-file the entire time. As you get used to this motion and you develop the strength in your hand and muscle memory, you’ll be able to turn the e-file up and go faster Practice Practice 😍

I've always used a buffer, you know the softer ones that looks like a file. And so I have buffed along side the nail, not across the nail as you're showing here in the video. For me, it has always worked to get the nail even and smooth that way because I buff the nail in the direction of the nail towards me, you know like when we want that "dolphin nose"? 😆 I don't know, I guess that's why we have different methods to achieve the same results, because not all methods work for everyone 🙈🤍
