I have had grey hair since I was in middle school, my friends would pull out my grey hairs for me. Then in highschool I started dying my hair and fighting my grey hair. Now I'm 31 and I'm sooo done with fighting my greys lol I'm embracing them wholeheartedly. Im glad I found this video though cuz I never thought about how my grey hair will be different. I have 3B-3C and finally embraced my curls in my mid twenties and I'm really trying to learn as much as I can.

Thanks for sharing the information you have gathered in this journey and your experiences. I am relevant new too trying to transition to gray. I started graying approximately 15 years ago and I have been naturally about 6 years. I have been using color rinses for years until March. I am ready to go gray but right now I dont like the color of my gray as the rinse gets old. I have been wearing my hair in a ponytail for months. I can't wait until the gray is pretty. I have always won my hair in its natural state but at this particular time I thot I would have a stunning change because it was my son,s wedding.I went to a hairdresser of good repute. He used what he called a gentle relaxer on my gray hair. Well I sat in that chair for ages and at the end of it he blow waved it and cut it to a style.Wnen I looked in the mirror my hair had become almost golden in an uneven way.I could not afford a fight because I was already drained physically because of wedding preparations for the wedding! The following day I woke up and my hair hang straight to my scalp and had zero body.So early that morning I had to look for something to conceal my hair disaster..My Gray's turned to this gold and and a dirty cream When I ran my fingers thru my hair there seemed to be extreme patches of missing hair! I had to shave my hair off after the wedding In the past my hairdresser never ever would relax my hair but would cut it to a style and blow wave it. The lesson here is that certain hair stylist can work with certain types of hair. My hair now is long, easy to manage but sometimes it's so bushy after each bath The steam tends to shrink my hair so much and if I blow dry it then I have really have big white afro hair!.I can't have it both ways I guess I will have this white hair most of my head except my nap which is still very black. I think it's a good idea to go to a hair dresser perhaps that has hair like you have and once you find one who can manage your hair cling to her/him

You’re so inspiring! Thank you! I love your hair and enjoy listening to your stories and thoughts. I don’t know if it’s a mistake but I have been experiencing with hair paints and gels that completely rinse/wash out. I began using the get paint hair wax to get an idea of what the grey will look like and deal with the emotional/physiological aspects. As you mentioned, i am dealing with the color damage and three different shades. I did notice detangling has begun to be an issue. Some of the natural hair products I once used are no longer effective. I am considering a big chop to transition quicker. I am so done.

🤦🏽♀️ Just made a HUGE mistake today. I was 2 1/2 years in my natural gray journey. I put in L'Oreal Paris Feria Multi-Faceted Shimmering Permanent Hair Color Hair Dye, S1 Smokey Silver. Last year, I started putting in Kiss Mystic Silver & Colorista Burgundy. They washed out fine, after a month or 2 . Around 5 months ago, I put in Colorista Indigo Blue. It was just hanging on! I got so tired of it. Well I put in the Loreal Smokey Silver, thinking it would have the same outcome as the other products I had been using. WRONG!! The other products ONLY deposited color on my gray hairs. This particular L'Oreal turned my very dark brown hair, a reddish & orange ish color🙄 My husband drove me to Sally's & that's when I found out that the dye I put in today, has a bleaching effect. She told me not to put anymore chemicals in my hair, for 2 weeks. And to keep using lots of conditioner & oil. Well, that's what I get for not researching 1st. Now, I don't know what I can do about this. I will not go back to coloring my hair it's natural color. I'll see how my hair color looks after 2 weeks. If it looks the same or not😔

Try instead of purple, using a blue colour if your hair is orange. Try out temporary hair colour and mixing it with your conditioner or leave in conditioner. Play around with the concentration.
