Many thanks, Hayward. I also think that your advice applies beyond portrait photography. I always seem to get caught up in getting that shot "right now". Then, in post, I look at it and go, "oh, I didn't see that fire hydrant there". Yes, I need to pause and look around some more before I hit the button. 😂

Great advice Howard. What if the only available time of the day is, lets say early afternoon? Thanks in advance

Happens all the time, that’s when my usual process works best; get the subject under a shady spot and add light to the face. Thanks for watching!

Hey why not just use regular photos instead of adding Lightroom to it to enhance everything I’m an old photographer and I mean Old from way back into 60s and I just use my normal photo and I’ll try my best to get exactly what I want and my wife complains I take too long to take a pictureI just wanna know why you just don’t use a picture that you take and use that people have to use that light to enhance everything to make it look better. Well it looks good just the way you take it.

Same as the dark room really. All negatives were never just contact printed with nothing else done right? Clients are looking for a piece of art and it’s my job to give it to them.

Thank you for your comment. I do appreciate the value of traditional photography methods and, at the same time, I appreciate newer tools and techniques. I find that it is really helpful to use a blend of both. 🎉
