Got my younger niece hooked on ‘green rider’ and at same time my sister-in-law on deLint! My brother called when the box of gifts arrived, was deriding fantasy and I replied that he would like the house. He asked why and I said ‘magic’ he replied ‘of course, all houses should be magic.

I read and loved all of the Oz books and all of the John Bellairs Middlegrade books as a kid. I started listening to the Face in the Frost a few years ago but didn't finish, though I do intend to go back to it for sure. Added Green Rider to my TBR.

The only Bellairs books I have read are ‘The House With a Clock in it Wall’ and, because you recommended it to me, ‘The Face in the Frost’. I enjoyed both and I have been meaning to read more books by him.

The Face in the Frost is really his only adult novel. (There's a couple more that are super hard to find.) I should really read more of his children's books, though!

Absolutely love Hollow Kingdom. I own the second book ‘Feral Creatures’ but have not yet read it because I am a little afraid that it will not be as good as Hollow Kingdom.

I knew Feral Creatures was out (probably because of you) but I haven't heard anything about it (whether it's good or not).

• I did finally read The Wizard Of Oz 4 years a ago or so, but I didn't like it as much as the movie. I had several complaints lol. • oh I remember you talking about the clock in the wall book in a previous video somewhere. That actually looked really interesting to me. • I thought The Sword Of Shannara was based on D&D, but it doesn't say that on the cover.. 🤔. • Oh Hollow Kingdom... I bought that based on what you said about it in a previous video... but I haven't read it yet 🙈. I've said that a lot watching this series, haven't I? 😂 • And one more time... this is a great series! ❤

Pretty sure Sword of Shannara wasn't based on D&D though it was contemporary, but who knows! Oh, start reading Hollow Kingdom. You'll fall in love with Shit Turd and Dennis by chapter one!

Great video Daisy! I love the Shannara series, but I’ve never read any Landover.

Thanks! Oh, pick up the first Landover book. It's even better a read when you're an adult since the MC is not some teenager but a grown man with a career!

I might have included J.M Barrie in my list but that is probably because I have read far less fantasy than you have. Peter Pan was yet another childhood favourite for me.

Heh, I had both JM Barrie and AA Milne on the list but then I took them off! On second thought maybe it should have been Barrie because the ending of Peter Pan always makes me sad even to this day...

When I was a young child my sister owned the beautiful 1958 Wizard of Oz book that was illustrated by Libico Maraja. I loved that book and was so jealous that it was my sister’s book not mine. It was republished in the 1986 and I eventually bought a copy of that edition. I also started collecting other vintage versions of the first Wizard of Oz books (ie published before 1980). I also own the Annotated Wizard of Oz and have listened to all the other Oz stories. I collect other books illustrated by Maraja and my favourite after the Oz book are the two Alice books. I do not particularly like the Judy Garland Oz movie because 1) Judy was much older than the book Dorothy 2) the story was changed to being just a dream and 3) I don’t like musicals.

Looked up Libico Maraja and love that artwork! Now, I want a print! The movie Return to Oz is more faithful to the books but apparently really scared kids when it came out...
