As always. Great one. Thankfully, this is one issue I don’t have. It’s the other 50 things I do wrong that’s the issue. 😂

Haha riding the tube causes so many issues I feel. From a messier workflow, to stencil complications. I do not recommend or encourage anyone to ride the tube as the adversities can hinder the tattooing process. You are improving tremendously. From where we started till today, I can see your growth sir. Keep pushing my friend!

How do you pinpoint the right voltage/hand speed? Mine has a dial that does not show numbers.

Riding the tube causes so much ink pooling I can’t see. I found my personal preference from the beginning was floating the needle 😁

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment! I appreciate you. I also agree with you 110%. When I used to try to ride the tube I would experience so much ink pooling it gave me an impression early on that tattooing was going to be messy but I just wasn't experienced enough to know that applying a tattoo can be a cleaner and neater process. It took me a bit to catch on to floating the needle but it was a much needed transition.

I’m happy I’ve always floated the needle I had my first friend that ended up giving me a sleeve at like 17 he would ride the tube but his stuff was good he did learn and tattoo in prison all the time so I always thought that people in prison just ride the tube and they stay with it idk, and I’m happy I’ve never been to prison lol

I have so much difficulties with learning not to ride the tube and find the great deapth in the skin while tattooing... this is discouraging If you have any advice, exercice to practice and get better at floating the needle, I would appreciate or really much 🥲 I bet I ride the tube because I'm scared to blowout. + I also have difficulties to saturate enough my lines, because I don't go deep enough in the skin with the needle. Due to the fact I'm scared of creating blow out... So much difficulties and challenge !

This is 1 of the many challenges I faced when learning tattooing, I am still learning everyday. I do have some videos that cover various aspects of needle depth and blowouts. We'd think that blowouts are easy to happen but in my opinion we just have to be unfamiliar with the basics. If we don't know the basics of lining we will tattoo under assumption versus technical and I feel this is the cause of blowouts because we may over compensate and apply more pressure, move way slower or both and more. I will leave some links for you below that can potentially help you in a better direction. Furthermore I will also make a video on how I go about floating the needle, be on the look out for that video.
