I use my tiny notebooks as brain dump space when I work on projects. Usually when I working on one project, I will inevitably start thinking about ideas for the other projects. Since I am in my last semester of grad school, I have about a thousand huge projects to work on and can only hold a thought for about 10 seconds at a time before I forget it, having a little brain dump notebook next to me literally ALL THE TIME. I use the LIFE insert that came with my Jibun Techo, covered it with stickers, and separated my major projects out with tabs so I don't have to worry about deciphering my notes and which project I was ACTUALLY thinking about later. Once I have it filled up, I am going to keep one going for the rest of forever, probably.

i have a tiny notebook i use for work (i work in retail, normal cashier/stocker stuff usually). when i do merchandising (how you set things out to make the store look good) i take notes so i can remember which racks have which type of clothes, whether or not they’ve been marked down, and what looks good together! it’s my nerdy interest when it comes to my job lol

Love the tiny notebooks & use them often. Shopping lists. Memory reminders. Arithmetic and equation scratch pads. Passing or saving phone numbers or e'mail addresses. Brief notes to hand someone else. Testing pen, nib and ink performance. Making tiny paper airplanes to amuse or tease someone. etc. etc. etc. ...

I am an avid lifelong keeper of sketchbooks, notebooks and journals. I use tiny notebooks for all of the reasons covered in the video, but also to keep notes on my design and illustration clients, projects and assignments I am working on. Keeping notes on plans, ideas, and conversations all in one place is convenient for quick reference and easy to tuck in my pocket when I need to travel on site.

Shoutout to one of my everyday carry pens, the Kaweco Perkeo 🥰 mine is that exact colour! I use a tiny Leuchtturm as a mini catch-all diary and carry it in my pocket everywhere. It’s good for writing, sketching, sticking stuff, and has a pocket for random bits like feathers or flower petals.

Do you like your Perkeo? I have 3 Kaweco All Sports, and I have the Old Chambray Kaweco Perkeo (M nib) in my shopping cart right now. But it's always good to hear from an owner of the pen before buying one. Is the Perkeo considered, "Deserted Island" pen? It means that the pen will write immediately even if it sits for months without being used. My All Sports need a little coaxing but not much. Of the pens I have, my Desert Island pen is a Lamy Dark Violet M nib fountain pen that I replaced the standard nib with a black steel nib. That pen fell out of my bag, went between the seats. I thought I had lost it. 7 months later, I had the car cleaned & detailed. When it was done, I found a small paper basket on the passenger seat with all of the stuff the cleaners found. Tubes of Lip balm, loose change, toll tokens, the Space Pen that we also thought was gone forever AND my Lamy! When I tried the nib it worked! It sat in the car for 7 months in the SC heat and it wrote like it was on my desk! I'll never give that pen up! But I'm hoping to find a Kaweco pen that good due to how much smaller they are when the caps are screwed on. Sorry for the novel!

@@rosemarypaul6093 Enjoy your Perkeo! I have that exact pen perpetually inked with Sailor Haha, a pink Perkeo (F nib) with black ink for drawing, and an iridescent Sport in EF. Weirdly enough the F Perkeo nib is finer than the EF Sport. They are buttery smooth, write immediately and they’re absolutely my Desert Island pens, I am never without one. So happy you found your Lamy again, I missed the Dark Violet rollout and I’m sad about it 🥲 I really enjoyed reading your novel hahaha

Lol I was actually thinking about upgrading my tiny notebook. Their value is unmeasurable in the legal field! It goes with the brain dumping, but when a client is talking (and they typically pop out of anywhere) it’s helpful to have a pen and paper to document facts, keywords, and initial thoughts. I have my go-to pocket pen(cil)s (a Pilot E95s, a Pilot Coleto, and a uni color 3 pencil), but I’ve been looking for a better mini notebook.

Anything bigger than A6 is a hassle for me: too big for comfort in any of my bags and too much space for me to write as my handwriting is not big. My current, possibly permanent, journal is a custom (read DIY made from what is found in secondhand stores from paper to cover) passport size creation of 1642 pages. Used it for everything as a commonplace book, recipe book, language learning book, gardening journal (or rather a book on gardening), art study book, infrequent journal, and makeshift pillow. I wrote everything in it: personal recollections and musings, ideas for inventions, art pieces, and literature, passages from literature and philosophy, musical themes and compositions, how to do things like manufactoria and maintenance, and various personal studies of certain topics...

Lol, though I have numerous tiny notebooks to use for brain dumping and to-do lists, I oddly end up using any nearby scraps of paper, envelopes in particular, because I tend to like the papers texture. I have one mini notebook and I use it as a ‘story dump’ notebook. I like writing stories for fun, so whenever I have an idea I can write it down in the notebook so I don’t forget it, and then read it over later. I got the notebook at a little free library next to a swimming pool, so I actually have absolutely no idea what brand or whatever it is. I kind of think it might be out of print now, because I’ve never seen another one like it. The plant tracker seems really cool, but I think the language learner notebook would be better because the elective I’m taking is Latin which is really fun but also really hard( it has so many declensions!! This is my second year and I’m only on like the second or third!). (I have no idea how to switch accounts because I don’t have the app so I’m just stuck with moms account)

I use the small L19 as a time blocking journal for my thesis. If I fall off of planning and focus, this is one way to get me back into the work habit. I stumbled on doing this with a really bad boss that questioned my work ethic. So I was tracking my time in 10 min intervals. That was too much time spent recording, so I shortened it to fifteen minute intervals. I can then later move the blocks of time into my JT days timeline, with more notes on the right side of the page and a todo list on the left side. Wish I could show you pictures, but alas, KZitem will not let me, and I gave up anything to do with Facebook except messenger. Also cut twitter.

How do you always seem to create videos with tips for questions I currently have? I usually use an A5 journal, but I wanted to try a a mini notebook that can fit in my pocket. Currently, I use it mostly for to do lists and notes, but I'm trying to make it as a small journal as well.

I agree! Bigger notebooks are so daunting to use, so I tend to not fill them up (until years later). I bought an M-sized Rollbahn note last year, and used it as a Commonplace + Brain dump notebook; helped me a lot because it was easy enough to carry, and keep on my person all day. So now I have to buy some every year (one M-size lasts me 3 months)

I use mini notebooks as mini journals, and they can be quite useful. I also use mini notebooks as meme books, and every page makes me laugh.

I use the Word. Pocket Notebook as a 1) Left page side, Weekly shopping list. 2) Right side, Weekly to do list. At 3.5" by 5.5" they are just about small enough to fit in a back jeans pocket. That makes them perfect for carrying into a store, or just keeping on one's person all day. It is also a way to have a general list of things that need to be done at some point during the week, that don't have a specific time table. If you find yourself scrolling through the internet looking for some content to consume, pull out your notebook and see what you need to do instead. 🙂

I use a tiny notebook as a washi take sketchbook. Another one is being used as an art supply index.

I actually use my small notebooks to write down important details discussed during meetings, random ideas, trivia or knowledge tidbits. I really hate forgetting certain details so I make it a habit to write everything down if necessary.😊

I have a tiny happy planner notebook that I keep in my pocket all the time. It usually has shopping lists, or where I park my car. I like slightly bigger small notebooks to keep track of anything else.

Yes!!! I have a commonplace book and love looking back at it whenever I want to feel sentimental :) I also keep small notebooks for gaming strats, character builds, toukenranbu formulas, etc LOL

That journal habit thing is just what i need. I've been on and off this journaling habit and even sometime makes the experience somewhat a chore. Even though the TN regular size is'nt big enough but most of the time i struggle to fill the whole page with my thoughts. So definitely will look for smaller notebook for my journalling

I’ve gradually downgraded my planner size from A4 to A6. The smaller size is so convenient and a perfect companion since I’m primarily digital with my work. Not to mention the huge price savings.
