Don't throw away cans. This is the best idea for homemade gas cans, and cans of paint and putty. Today I will show you how to make DIY lamps and garden lights that can run on oil and kerosene.

First you need to burn the paint. Do not heat cans for a long time. They may burn out. Burnt paint can be cleaned with a hard sponge or angle grinder. Plafonds can be made from glass jars and bottles. You can cut the bottom of the bottle and the neck with a bottle cutter. We make an incision in the right place as shown in the video, after which we heat it with a nichrome spiral. The temperature is adjustable with a 4000W dimmer. If there is no dimmer and spiral, wind a woolen thread, wet it with alcohol and set it on fire. In order for the cut to turn out even, you need to heat locally only the place of the incision. Don't throw away cans. The upper part of the street lamp will be from gas cartridges. From the bottom of the can we make the top cover. We cut and tear.
I have a link to stencils on my site. Print and stick the stencil onto the jar using stationery glue. The slots are marked on the stencil. Make cuts with a grinder. After the angle grinder, burrs remain. If I had made the cuts with a plasma cutter, there would have been no burrs. Next, we make a tin can pot-bellied. Bank is transformed into something interesting.
For rigidity, insert a mesh inside.
The most difficult part of this project was through metal etching. That is why this is the best idea for homemade. For a number of reasons, I will make a separate video on the topic of through etching. In short, what did I do? Then I painted, then washed off. I used stencils, as I did with two-layer metal etching. Pickled with different concentrations of salt. Change voltage and current. By the way, the laboratory elephant, which was assembled for this purpose in another video, helped me a lot with this. Decor elements of garden lamps turned out worthy.
Homemade lamps will run on used sunflower oil. This is the best DIY idea.
An additional decor was made of 08 mm thick tin. The clamping plates were bent with needle nose pliers. And all this beauty was welded by resistance welding.
I put the liner and the upper shirt of the second lantern on silicone. The temperature here is no more than 30 degrees. I poured 80 grams of oil into the burner jar. The charge should be sufficient for at least 36 hours of continuous burning.
I also planted jars of oil on silicone.
Garden lights look great both in complete darkness and in normal lighting. So don't throw away cans. Decorative lanterns are also not afraid of the wind.

As I said in the video, the idea of tin can lanterns is not new. Something similar and perhaps the first was done by Sergey Malinich - a link to a video from his channel - • Бизнес в гараже..Фонарики
Given the complexity, not everyone can make such flashlights. But if the hands grow from the right place, then it is not so difficult - based on my experience.
Now you know how to do why I wrote do not throw away cans. This is really the best DIY idea.
I suggest another life hack. The same flashlights can be made from oil filters, but not on oil, but on drivers
