Danny, I'm 78 years old and this past Wednesday I shot my lowest round ever an 80 thanks to your fine instruction. I was swinging the club horizontally and not turning my front shoulder down toward the ball. As soon as I started doing this it helped bring the club up in the proper position so I could hit down on the ball. Thanks so much!!!

Agree...This is one of the more important ones for us older golfers. I have been working on Danny's swing drills for some time because I'm almost 71 years of age and his overall method is well geared for the older golfer with certain minor disabilities. Everything Danny talks about WORKS on the golf course where it matters. I'm hitting cleaner and easier with a lot more control than in my stronger years. It's also fun to go to the range and have people watching what I do, that is a direct complement to Danny...thanks.

Thank you Danny, the "right pocket back & around" concept really did the trick for me and was therefore the most valuable of all your great videos for me! While all your excellent tips so far did help me a lot, I unfortunately kept falling back to bad habits, not realising that I turn only my shoulders, thus losing consistency. Now, I hope, the concept will finally stay with me 🙂

Thank you so much for your videos Danny. You are a gifted teacher. It has been fascinating and enlightening to follow your thoughts that are clear and make so much sense. I enjoy the new video each week. Great instructional video Danny! As you mentioned, it’s so important that you have stability and balance in the backswing. So many of us amateurs think of hitting the ball instead of swinging through, and as a result overuse the hands and arms. By the way, you have a great looking backswing!

Thanks for your latest video. At 77 I was just all arms and no rotation. Plus my arms at address were parallel, but after I changed that by getting my right arm below my left at address, as you advised, it greatly improved my swing. Plus using my right hip to do the backswing, by pulling my set up positions around correctly, which kept my arms in place, I'm now playing my best golf since I was a teenager. Thanks again!

After coming back, the distance I have been hitting the ball is demoralising and I couldn't figure out why. This video has put the pieces into place. Thank you! Just allowing my left heel to lift naturally has allowed me much better rotation. You don't see a heel lift these days due to golfers working hard flexibility from a young age. But the stars of yesteryear, Nicklaus, Snead etc all used to allow the left heel to lift.

This was the tip that made so much sense, to feel like you are moving right leg back not turning and to almost punch forward than attempt to turn. I get it’s a mind feeling but makes so much sense when doing it. The power feels so much stronger and stroke makes you not try to hit it but the ball just happens to be in the way of the stroke. Really love you focused on how we feel a shot rather that the true mechanics which are harder to visually absorb. Brilliant!
@lanhuynh226

Danny, thank you! That is the best explanation I have seen for rotating to the back swing! Viewing how the butts move and its location really help me understand the feeling of rotations without the arms leading the rotation. One question in my mind that was not obvious to me as I'm watching the video is the down swing. How do you get the butts to move back to position where you started... by straightening the left leg for a right handed golfer? Many golfers started to sway because we are told to transfer our weight to hit it farther and we don't know how to transfer the weight with the correct hip and shoulders rotations.

Danny, I've been watching your lessons off and on for a few years and really like your mostly non-technical approach to the golf swing. The other day on the range I combined some of your thoughts with one that I heard from my first few years playing golf about 50yrs ago, which was not to break the glass wall behind you on your backswing. (The same idea that you gave in one your lessons when warned about keeping your upper arms too attached to your chest through the entire swing.) So the thought I came up with was "turn your ass, wait...and don't break the glass". The combination of the right rear pocket back, a little pause and a more upright plane made for straight shots and a full release of the club which I'd been struggling with. Thanks, Danny

Every step you describe seemingly explains the source of my arm swing problems Over 50 years of golf I have tried to improve my turn in the backswing and not understood the importance of sequencing my lower and upper body turns, so that my club does not get behind me and my body is not in the way in the downswing.Have got a little better that way but can see straight away that your method of rotation will be far better. Hi Danny, I started watching your videos about two years ago then broke my right elbow in a cycling accident just before my 2020 golf season started. I'm just now getting back to the course after multiple surgeries and loads of physical therapy. I've played a couple of times (without pain!) but have noticed I've lost some function in my right elbow (elbow rotation and extension). I seem to have a tendency now to pull shots to the left...(I blame that on the lack of extension of my right arm on follow through). I'm not sure if that's true or not, but I'm working on it with the help of your videos. I'm excited to get back to the course this year and practice some of your drills to improve my swing. Thanks so much for creating the videos and keeping it simple. Scott Ferguson Illinois, USA

The two keys for me were the right back pocket pulled back then continued rotation to the target. Many instructors simply tell you to move the pocket back. Continuing the turn toward the target results in improved balance and the incremental stored power is incredible. Also the "stop" on the downswing is brilliant and so well explained. Transfers more power to the back of the ball instead of losing it in a side swiping motion.

such a great video...within your flexible movement...I love how you preface an important part by saying "look"....I know to pay close attention!

Love this Video!! Okay so I have recently been working on the shoulder rotation and my butt going backwards as of recent! So this video ties it in perfectly...I also just had shoulder surgery so coming back to start swinging I was already thinking of doing 1/2 to 3/4 punch shots till my shoulder completely heals!! This video encourages that motion!! PERFECT VIDEO!! Thank you once again Danny

How great for your dad and you!! Have been trying to 'throw' the ball onto the green on the target line and now getting much better results. Wish your dad all the best for his golf.

awesome to hear Danny, in reality we are all built differently and therefore we should allow our swings to develop naturally

@@DanielMaude I’m certainly built differently. My mum used to say “they broke the mould making you”

Again, I really appreciate your videos. They have helped me tremendously but I'm having trouble keeping my front arm, my left because I'm right handed, straight in the back swing. Any tips?

Useful tip for senior players like me. Age has compromised my swing considerably.

Danny , Thank you for your videos that teach in a way the recreational player can relate to. It has helped me tremendously. Keep up the great work, it’s much appreciated.
