My favorite finesse underspin baits are 3" single tail grubs, tinny flukes, berkley jar minnows, maxscent flatworm 3.6 size. My favorite wintertime underspin baits is Strike King KVD Perfect Plastics Caffeine Shad Jr., Reaction Innovations Shiver Glide, Z-Man Finesse Shadz 8pk, and Gambler 5" Super Stud Soft Jerkbaits 15pk.

@@BassGeek i need a professional answer from a professional like you. i went fishing the other day at a clear lake by my house. it’s a sandy hard shell bottom lake and the main forage is threadfin shad, there’s billions of shad in there and they school up in huge bait balls. there’s big bream in there too. anyways, i had a drop shot, lipless, shakey head, and a finesse swimbait on a underspin. i couldn’t get a single bite until i used my secret weapon which is a berkley 3” boss grub, watermelon red and i had it on a megabass okashira jig head with a medium light spinning rod with 6 lb. test. it was basically a small bream profile. i started catching them left and right. why is that?
@BassGeek
Жыл бұрын
@@phillipmonk2855 Number one you sent finesse and slowed down. That head even with a propeller is MUUUUUUCH more subtle than even a underspin. The grub tail in tighter when it twists compared to a wide swing of a Swimbait. Last Of it was a bream pattern the bass like a steak more than a slim Jim. Bream are much more hearty than shad. That’s not even taking in what the wether water and sky was like which will all play into it

Thanks for the great video. Quick Question? Is it easier to catch bass when the water is low? First time I can recall the local lakes in my area being drawn down. Thanks
@BassGeek
Жыл бұрын
Yes, no, maybe. So when the water first drops it's tough. About 3 days after it stabilizes, and depending on the time of year yes it can be.. But the same can be said for rising water.

I swear I was just checking out those ledgehead underspins. I’m interested in trying them but I think a swimming worm could even be a good bait to use. Obviously chatterbait trailers are a great option too. Like the powerbait Stinger because it has a slight lip on the tail that catches water.

I "like" the gama underspin swimbait hooks.. the blade is on a longer leader and it's not so tight to the bait. that being said I've had my best luck on a underspin jighead with the blade tight to the belly of the bait. I just started using the gamakatsu underspin jighead. it's looks really good but I need to throw it more to make a better opinion of it.
